Susquehanna installation’s oldest building celebrates grand reopening

The Defense Distribution Center, Susquehanna installation celebrated the official reopening of its Susquehanna Club with a ribbon cutting ceremony on June 15. Installation leadership, employees and community members came together to observe the renovations to the centuries-old barn that now serves as an event venue.

Distribution headquarters celebrates the 241st Army birthday

In a ceremony held in the DLA Distribution Headquarters lobby, senior leaders, military members and civilian staff celebrated the U.S. Army’s 241st Birthday on June 14, 2016. As one of his last official actions as commanding general, Army Brig. Gen. Richard B. Dix spoke about the significance and history, followed by presentation of several awards honoring Distribution headquarters staff.

DSCR fire chief joins USA team for ITU Duathlon World Championship

Don Rodgers, Defense Logistics Agency Installation Support at Richmond, Virginia’s fire chief, competed on the USA Team June 4-6 in the International Triathlon Union’s Duathlon World Championship held in Avilȇs, Spain. Rodgers was one of approximately 60 competitors in his 50- to 54-year-old age group competing in the sprint distance duathlon.

DLA Aviation helps sustain America’s first long-range bomber for another 30 plus years

If you’ve ever been fortunate enough to see an Air Force B-52 bomber up close on the ground or in the air, you fully understand its sheer magnitude. Built by Boeing, the B-52 Stratofortress is more than 40 feet high, has a wingspan of 185 feet, and is 160 feet long. To put that into perspective, that’s 25 feet wider and a little less than half the length of a regulation football field.

Korea commander recognized for outstanding achievements during tenure

Army Lt. Col. Mark Wolf has been awarded the Defense Meritorious Service Medal for his achievements while serving as commander of Defense Logistics Agency Distribution Korea. During his tenure, his leadership resulted in the organization performing well above the DLA standards in quality, performance, accountability, and safety.
