Susquehanna Installations Operations hosts force protection lecture series

NEW CUMBERLAND, Pa. — DLA Distribution Susquehanna, Pennsylvania hosted a force protection lecture series which highlighted photos of the 2011 flooding in Hershey, Pennsylvania, and the efforts of the Derry Township Police Department on Oct. 27. The guest speaker was Patrick M. O’Rourke, Sr., former Derry Township police chief and current security manager with the Global Security team at the Hershey Company.

Annual Halloween event attracts enthusiasts from all ‘walks of life’

Fort Belvoir, Va. — Chills and thrills were in the air as nearly 200 participants ran, walked and even wheeled their way along the path during the McNamara Headquarters Complex annual Halloween 5K event Oct. 31. This year’s theme was “Zombies,” but costumes were as varied as the participants themselves.

San Joaquin’s Bongcaron retires after 38 years of federal service

TRACY, Calif. — Juliana Bongcaron, staff support analyst of the Inventory Management Division at DLA Distribution San Joaquin, California, is retiring after 38 years of dedicated federal service in support of America’s warfighters.

DLA works closely with the U.S. Forest Service, state governments and local fire departments to get firefighters like the Silver State Interagency Hotshot Crew, shown fighting a blaze in the Stanislaus National Forest, California, the equipment they need.
