The building, designed by Clark Nexsen, features extensive use of natural lighting. Other environmentally friendly features include energy efficient lighting and equipment with motion and occupancy sensors, rainwater harvesting, extensive use of recycled and local materials, green roofs, photovoltaic panels on the roof, maximized solar orientation, and increased levels of insulation.

NEW CUMBERLAND, Pennsylvania — Melinda Charles, a management and program analyst at DLA Distribution Susquehanna, Pa., has been awarded the Edward Sweger DLA Distribution Systems Innovation and Automation Award for her accomplishments as the lead architect and developer of a mission critical business intelligence suite of applications.

History of the Federal Catalog System

Fort Belvoir, Virginia — DLA’s Logistics Information Services is responsible for the management and operation of the Federal Logistics Information System, incorporating data requirements for cataloging, supply and other logistics support for the Department of Defense, civil government agencies and participating NATO countries.

Chief Warrant Officer 2 Larry Lyons (blue helmet) serves at DLA Energy Pacific at Okinawa, Japan, as an operations and plans officer for bulk fuel receipt, storage, and inventory management and distribution. Part of his responsibilities are to help administer a six-month augmentee program where DLA Energy Pacific at Okinawa gives fuel Marines a chance to learn pipeline, lab, tanks, bunkering and tank gauging operations.

Pentagon gives DLA awards for CFC efforts

The Defense Logistics Agency was honored at a Pentagon ceremony Jan. 26, for exceeding its 2016 Combined Federal Campaign goal. DLA also won the award for Best Overall Communications Program for medium-sized organizations.

Partnership streamlines depot maintenance for ICBM wings

HILL AIR FORCE BASE, Utah — Logistics In Action: Article originally appeared on the Air Force Materiel Command website — The 309th Missile Maintenance Group and Defense Logistics Agency recently worked together on an initiative to establish a “retail-like” support structure in order to stock, store and distribute parts and supplies to the Air Force’s three ICBM wings.

DLA Distribution honored with Energy award

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. — Defense Logistics Agency Distribution Oklahoma City, Okla., was honored with the 2016 Federal Energy and Water Management Award in December for implementing a process to convert existing steam heating to a more efficient natural gas heating system in eight of its facilities.
