BARSTOW, California — United States Air Force Lt. Gen. Andrew E. Busch, who heads the organization supplying every branch of America’s military, visited Defense Logistics Agency facilities aboard Marine Corps Logistics Base Barstow, Calif., Jan. 26.

Subsistence grows produce support to Alabama schools with satsumas

PHILADELPHIA — Schoolchildren in Alabama are enjoying a citrus treat this winter thanks in part to DLA Troop Support. Satsumas are a seedless fruit with loose skin grown in Alabama. And the Subsistence supply chain provides them to schools through the DOD Fresh Program.

DLA serves Super Bowl fare to service members overseas

PHILADELPHIA — As millions of Americans munch on game-day fare while watching the Super Bowl this Sunday, so will service members serving in Iraq and Afghanistan, thanks to DLA Troop Support.

PHILADELPHIA — Several Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support employees received recognition for their service and accomplishments during a quarterly awards ceremony Jan. 19.

DLA director emphasizes strategic goals at Troop Support town hall

PHILADELPHIA — The Defense Logistics Agency director said that while DLA Troop Support has done great work supporting the warfighter over more than 15 years of conflict in the Middle East, the strategic environment is changing.

Far East District logistic management office moved 6 empty container boxes from Far East District to Defense Reutilization Managemnt Services Office (DRMO) with help from 25th Transportation Battalion Dec. 21. This is all part of the Far East District’s planned relocation to Camp Humphreys.

Logistics In Action: Article originally appeared on the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Far East District website — In preparation for the Far East District's relocation to Camp Humphreys in Pyeongtaek, the Logistics Management Office turned in six 20-feet containers to the Defense Logistics Agency Disposition Services on Dec. 22, 2016.

Bituminous coal is removed from a shuttered power plant at U.S. Navy Surface Warfare Center Indian Head in Maryland. The DLA Disposition Services assistance in finding a new home for the coal saved an estimated $6 million in removal costs.

Travel authorizations streamlined, DTS compliance rates improved

PHILADELPHIA — last minute, overseas mission was put into jeopardy earlier this year due to errors in employees’ Defense Travel System accounts. Scenarios like this caused two Troop Support employees to peak under the hood of DTS to find out why and fix it.
