CENTCOM logisticians learn value of overseas industry vetting program

PHILADELPHIA — Two logisticians who support U.S. Central Command were briefed March 16 on the vetting process for DLA Troop Support’s overseas contracts.

DLA Disposition Services helps police raise autism awareness

Tinton Falls, New Jersey — A New Jersey police department is using a Humvee acquired through DoD's LESO program, which DLA Distribution Services administers, to raise awareness of autism among first responders and others.

C&T employees visit supplier, improve understanding of industry

March 23, 2016 — Twelve Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support employees from the Clothing and Textiles supply chain toured a manufacturing plant that has been making uniforms for the U.S. military since World War II.

Despite South Korea’s ban on poultry items from the U.S., warfighters who eat at DFACs across the peninsula continue to eat fresh chicken, thanks to DLA Troop Support Pacific.

Troop Support Pacific ensures South Korea DFACs have fresh chicken despite poultry ban

PHILADELPHIA — Despite South Korea’s ban on poultry items from the U.S., service members who eat at dining facilities across the peninsula continue to eat fresh chicken, thanks to DLA Troop Support Pacific.

DLA Troop Support and the Construction and Equipment supply chain hosted industry partners March 4 in Philadelphia to discuss the Maintenance, Repair and Operations program.

Troop Support hosts C&E industry partners to boost MRO program

PHILADELPHIA — The Maintenance, Repair and Operations program is a case of the Construction & Equipment supply chain applying best commercial practices to support the warfighter, the agency director said March 4 in Philadelphia.

Air Force Master Sgt. Antoinette Jones was named the Defense Logistics Agency Senior Noncommissioned Officer of the Year and is now in competition for the Office of the Secretary of Defense award.

Troop Support airman competes for DOD Senior NCO of the Year

March 14, 2016 — An airman with Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support who was selected as the DLA Senior Noncommissioned Officer of the Year for fiscal 2015 represented the agency in the Department of Defense competition.

Army, DLA officials plan way ahead for equipment reductions, sustained readiness

The Pentagon, Virginia — Defense Logistics Agency leaders outlined how the agency will continue assisting the Army as it removes more than 2 million pieces of equipment from its inventory, during an Army/DLA Day event at the Pentagon March 8.

Charles Miller, a Fleet Readiness Center Southeast material identifier, washes a bin of aluminum scraps collected through the manufacturing process. Washing the scraps removes oil residue and dust so the metal can be taken to Defense Logistics Agency Disposition Services for resale. The recycling of metal scraps is one small part of the facility's drive towards decreasing its environmental footprint. Agency senior leader visits Bahrain

BAHRAIN — Defense Logistics Agency Senior Enlisted Leader Army Command Sgt. Maj. Charles Tobin made a quick stop in Bahrain from Feb. 21 to Feb. 22 during his multi-country visit within the U.S. Central Command area of responsibility.

SGT Ashley Irmak, with the U.S. Army Medical Material Center, Europe in Pirmasens, Germany, provided Army Brig. Gen. Charles Hamilton, DLA Troop Support commander, a brief on the Optical Activities Division. Hamilton went to USAMMCE as part of his first visit to DLA Troop Support Europe and Africa.
