Battle Creek, Michigan — Senior leaders and staff from DLA Disposition Services headquarters continue to inform warfighters and other customers about Network Optimization with more details about how field sites in the continental United States will adapt to ensure customer requirements are supported in the most efficient and cost effective manner possible.

DLA employees can visit an internal eWorkplace webpage to find tips, tricks and information related to the agency's new virtual desktop initiative. Philadelphia — DLA Chief Information Officer Kathy Cutler led a town hall at DLA Troop Support April 26 that focused on providing information about the agency’s IT overhaul.

Industrial Hardware closes 'March Madness' with surge of contract awards

PHILADELPHIA — The Industrial Hardware supply chain at DLA Troop Support held its own “March Madness” competition in which employees rallied to complete 2,716 purchase requests with backorders. They also put on a full court press to award 97 first-article test contracts.

PHILADELPHIA — More than 440 children accompanied their parents for Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day April 27 at NSA Philadelphia. about how their parents contribute to the missions of DLA Troop Support and NAVSUP Weapon Systems Support.

Program offers food for thought on sexual assaults

Battle Creek, Michigan — Defense Logistics Agency employees in Battle Creek, Michigan, shared some tea and information about sexual assault, the impact on victims, and how we can support those affected as part of April’s event for Sexual Assault Awareness Month.

DLA helps Army units save time, money in 'surge' disposition event

Fort Hood, Texas — Defense Logistics Agency personnel helped Army units at Fort Hood, Texas, save 4,300 man hours in document preparation and screening in a recent two-week event, in which 859 vehicles turned in 400,000 pounds of scrap metal.

Employees from the DLA Troop Support Industrial Hardware supply chain participate in a Cross Function Day activity in the Bldg. 6 auditorium April 6. Personnel worked in small teams to construct military service insignia with hardware managed by the IH supply chain. The Cross Function Day event was designed to boost information-sharing across the supply chain’s diverse units and functions.

DLA Distribution commander discusses warfighter support with Troop Support leaders

PHILADELPHIA — The DLA Distribution commander touted how his team works with DLA Troop Support to provide the best warfighter support at the best value for the Department of Defense during a visit to Philadelphia April 7.

Service members observe the 2016 Passover holiday at Bagram Airfield, Afghanistan. DLA Troop Support provided 223 Seder kits, which contain matzah, a shank bone and other religious items, for Jewish service members who celebrate the eight-day festival of Passover.

Used locomotives deliver economic benefits

Lake Providence, Louisiana — Former Army locomotives are driving an effort to revitalize a 90-mile stretch of rail line to foster economic benefits for Louisiana and Arkansas.
