PHILADELPHIA — DLA Troop Support celebrated the Army's birthday with cake before the weekly senior leader staff meeting. And the Subsistence supply chain helped soldiers around the world enjoy their cake too.

DLA Troop Support attorneys engage area law schools

PHILADELPHIA — A group of attorneys who serve as career counselors for Philadelphia area law schools visited DLA Troop Support June 5. DLA Troop Support attorneys provided an overview of the organization’s global warfighter support mission, legal areas of practice and attorney benefits to representatives from Villanova, Drexel, Temple, Widener and Rutgers universities.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Nashville District cut their procurement process time by 50 percent when they used the Construction and Equipment supply chain’s Maintenance, Repair and Operations program.

WASHINGTON — The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District cut its procurement time 50 percent by using DLA Troop Support's Maintenance, Repair and Operations program.

Commander recognizes Troop Support employees at awards ceremony

PHILADELPHIA — The commander of DLA Troop Support recognized 67 employees during a quarterly awards ceremony June 6.

Reservist at Troop Support honored for 32 years of service

PHILADELPHIA — Friends, family and colleagues celebrated the 32-year career of an Army reservist at the Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support during a retirement ceremony June 4.

Army warfighters turn-in their unserviceable metal office furniture for scrap metal to Defense Logistics Agency employees in Korea recently collected at the U.S. Army Garrison Humphrey’s scrap metal collection point.

Spring cleaning makes room for new items

Misawa, Japan — Before summer takes over, the staff at DLA Disposition Services at Misawa, Japan, did some spring cleaning to clear out old property, make space for rolling stock and accommodate their turn-in customers.

Senior Army logistician visits Troop Support

PHILADELPHIA — Lt. Gen. Aundre Piggee, the deputy chief of staff for Army logistics, or G4, got a closer look at how DLA Troop Support provides materials to the service, the organization’s largest customer.

Council Rock 15 inspires Troop Support commander

Newtown, Pennsylvania — In honor of the Council Rock 15 and all fallen service members, the DLA Troop Support commander participated in a Memorial Day ceremony at Council Rock North High School May 26.

The Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support Subsistence supply chain held more than 35 brown bag lunches in order to better understand their workforce’s needs. The brown bag sessions were designed to help address areas of concern indicated in the Denison Climate Culture Surveys' written comments.

PHILADELPHIA — Senior leaders with the Subsistence supply chain gathered feedback from nearly 90 percent of their employees over six months to better understand the culture.

Subsistence PaCER helps provide new performance bar to Army recruits

PHILADELPHIA — Army recruits in basic combat training will start eating nutritional snack bars this summer to help prevent injuries. And an employee in training at the DLA Troop Support is largely responsible for procuring the vitamin-packed treats for recruits.

Twelve high-mobility, wheeled vehicles arrive among the many Class II and VII items rolling into DLA Disposition Services at Gimcheon, Korea, for the Operation Clean Sweep.

Items still rolling in for Operation Clean Sweep

Gimcheon, Korea — Defense Logistics Agency employees at the DLA Disposition Services site at Gimcheon, Korea, continue to support the Army’s 2nd Infantry Division as Operation Clean Sweep continues to roll along with the arrival of vehicles that are part of the Class II and VII turn-ins.

Medical employee maintains cold chain, saves money, earns DOD award

PHILADELPHIA — When DLA sends vaccines and drugs to military medical facilities, Dana Dallas ensures there are no weak links in the cold chain. The Medical supply chain employee earned the Defense Department’s Packaging Excellence Award in a ceremony in Rockaway, N.J., May 10.
