Logistics vehicle gets new life fighting fires

Acton, Maine — A former military supply vehicle stands ready to help fight forest fires in a New England village.

DLA Joint Reserve Force director visits Troop Support

PHILADELPHIA — Military reservists already contribute to the DLA Troop Support mission. And the director of DLA’s Joint Reserve Force wants to know how they can do more. Navy Rear Adm. Deborah Haven returned to her hometown of Philadelphia March 23 to discuss the role of reservists with DLA Troop Support leaders.

Gimcheon staff uses airwaves to reach out to warfighters

Air national guardsman uses Defense Logistics Agency reutilization program to save millions of dollars

Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey — The reutilization offered through DLA Disposition Services has helped an Air National Guardsman in New Jersey save millions of dollars.

DLA now offers custom medical kits

PHILADELPHIA — DLA Troop Support is now offering customized medical kits to better meet the needs of its customers. Customers can now rely on DLA for medical kits containing a wide selection of items, such as pharmaceuticals, instruments, bandages, splints and needles, in the quantities they require.

A munitions display demonstrates the full capabilities of the B-52 Stratofortress, an Air Force bomber. DLA Troop Support's Nuclear Enterprise Support Office was established to coordinate the support that its five supply chains provide to nuclear weapons systems platforms, including submarines, aircraft carriers and strategic, long-range bombers.

Troop Support launches dedicated nuclear enterprise support

Philadelphia — A team has been formed at DLA Troop Support to focus on the sustainment of the Defense Department's nuclear capabilities. The Nuclear Enterprise Support Office will coordinate the support that Troop Support’s five supply chains provide to nuclear weapons systems platforms.

Pilot leadership course provides tools for effective supervision

Philadelphia — More than 30 supervisors learned leadership lessons and tools for effective supervision during DLA Troop Support’s first Leadership Academy Feb. 21-23 in Philadelphia.

‘Flag ladies’ continue Betsy Ross legacy as museum-worthy Philadelphia flag-makers

PHILADELPHIA — Embroiderers at DLA Troop Support continue the flag-making legacy of Betsy Ross and the many needle workers who preceded them. The "flag ladies" are featured in the Betsy Ross House’s newest exhibit “Historic Threads: 250 Years of Flag Making in Philadelphia.”

PHILADELPHIA — Armored bulldozers and track loaders provided by Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support are playing a role in protecting Iraq from the threat posed by the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant.
