“Marrying Millions,” “Married to Medicine” and “Married at First Sight.” Just a few of the reality shows on television these days that follow the everyday lives of married couples and their families. Given the large number of married couples at Defense Logistics Agency Aviation at Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, they should have their own reality show. We will call it, “Married to DLA.”

DLA Installation Management Richmond site director visits Pennsylvania, reviewing inventory and future requirements

David Gibson, site director for Defense Logistics Agency Installation Management Richmond, Virginia, traveled to DLA Aviation’s Industrial Plant Equipment Services Division in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, May 9 – 12 to conduct a review of inventory and requirements for an upcoming general equipment compliance visit from DLA Headquarters later this fiscal year.

Family members of early DSCR landowner pay respects to their ancestors

In 1797, Richard Gregory, one of the wealthiest landowners in Chesterfield County, Virginia, purchased 1,000 acres of land Defense Supply Center Richmond, Virginia, sits on today. On this land he built Manor House, now known as the Bellwood House. It’s one of the oldest houses in Chesterfield County and is listed as a national historic landmark.

Tyler selected as new DLA Aviation Commander

Air Force Brig. Gen. Sean Tyler has been selected to serve as the next Defense Logistics Agency Aviation commander at Richmond, Virginia. He will replace Air Force Brig. Gen. David Sanford, whose next assignment will be director of logistics, engineering and force protection for Headquarters Air Mobility Command at Scott Air Force Base, Illinois.

DSCC MWR’s Operation Cookie Drop gives Ohio military a big thank you for Military Appreciation Month

In honor of Military Appreciation Month, the Defense Supply Center Columbus Morale, Welfare and Recreation’s annual Operation Cookie Drop distributes hundreds of cases of Girl Scout cookies donated by the Girl Scouts of Ohio's Heartland each May. This year, the Girl Scouts and DSCC MWR distributed 1300 cases of cookies to about 5,600 service members from 32 units (large and small) throughout Ohio.

Land and Maritime announces 2022 Hall of Fame inductees, to induct 2020 and 2021 honorees in combined ceremony

Defense Logistics Agency Land and Maritime Deputy Commander Kenneth Watson has announced the inductees into the 2022 DLA Land and Maritime Hall of Fame. Four former Land and Maritime leaders, including two from Maritime Supplier Operations, one from Land Customer Operations and one from Business Process Support, will be inducted in a combined ceremony later this summer along with official inductions for the Classes of 2020 and 2021. The two previous induction ceremonies were delayed due to the pandemic.
