OSHA Safe + Sound Safety Campaign

The Safety and Occupational Health Division will host the OSHA Safe + Sound Safety Campaign, an interactive, informational fair, Aug. 14 from 11a.m. -1p.m. in the Operations Center Buckeye and Cardinal rooms at the Defense Supply Center Columbus. The annual event is held to raise awareness and understanding of the value of safety and health programs as part of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s nationwide campaign.

Faith services offered at DSCC

Chaplain Liaisons provide encouragement to employees in support of the spiritual pillar of the DLA Land and Maritime Resiliency Program under the People and Culture Directorate. Bible Class and Prayer Warriors groups formed at DSCC in the late 1990’s by a small group of employees and a volunteer Chaplain Liaison of the Christian faith.

PaCER Proteges save the government time and money

In the midst of the current DLA cash crunch, two DLA Land and Maritime associates have indirectly developed a few ways to save the agency some money. DLA Demand Supply Chain Analyst Christopher Rodriguez and DLA Maritime Customer Relations Customer Account Specialist Jeffrey Day have collaborated on quite a few projects in their two-year tenure in the Pathways to Career Excellence Program (PACE) at DLA Land and Maritime Columbus, Ohio.

Small Businesses receive answers to questions during event

DLA Land and Maritime detachment at Puget Sound participated in the “Meet the Buyers” small business outreach event in Bremerton, Washington, July 17. “Every time we attend an event like this, one of the key takeaways is an increased vendor pool across every socioeconomic category,” Hart said. “New vendors are able to learn about the many resources available to them, and how to successfully supply correct information when quoting DLA requirements. This provides immeasurable intrinsic value in ensuring DLA Maritime – Puget Sound is able to maximize contract award dollars to small business concerns.”

USAF begins new Egyptian F110 upgrade program

A big step forward to modernize the Egyptian Air Force F-16 “Fighting Falcon” fleet will take place July 25th in San Antonio, Texas. United States Air Force contracting, through Defense Logistics Agency-Aviation’s Strategic Acquisition Program, has awarded an Egyptian long-term F110 propulsion sustainment contract to GE Aviation. The ceremony will recognize the enterprise collaboration with a focus on Egyptian F-16 mission readiness.

The United States Navy has a long tradition enlisting some of the most gifted and dedicated men and women the United States has to offer. This proud naval tradition is one that Petty Officer First Class Andrew Tonski knows all too well. Tonski was born Sept, 8 1992, in New Haven, Conn. into a naval family found himself being just the newest member in his family to partake in this naval tradition when he enlisted in the Navy in the summer of 2012.
