Gibbons inducted into the Army Quartermaster Hall of Fame

FORT LEE, Virginia — Former Defense Logistics Agency Energy Middle East Commander retired Army Col. Greg Gibbons was inducted into the U.S. Army Quartermaster Hall of Fame at Fort Lee, Virginia, July 11.

Forging airpower at Metals Tech shop

CANNON AIR FORCE BASE, New Mexico — Logistics In Action: Article originally appeared on the Cannon Air Force Base website — There’s a cacophony of noise emanating out of building 22 on base. Mallets striking bolts, grinding metal, sparks peppering the floor, the hiss of air compressors. The shop is bustling with work.

DLA military members honor veterans during an Independence Day ceremony

Richmond, Va. — Defense Logistics Agency Aviation and Fort Lee military members honor veterans during an Independence Day ceremony held at the Dunlop House, an assisted living facility, in Colonial Heights, Virginia, July 6.

The June workshop, first in a planned series, taught participants to use JAWS software to ensure web pages are accessible.

Developmental Assignments

COLUMBUS, Ohio — There are 71 potential developmental assignments for the FY18 DLA Enterprise Rotation Program.

FORT BELVOIR, Virginia — Four former Defense Logistics Agency Energy employees are selected to be inducted into the Energy Hall of Fame at the McNamara Headquarters Complex, Fort Belvoir, Virginia, Sept. 28.

Army G-4 Deputy Chief of Staff visits Distribution headquarters

NEW CUMBERLAND, Pennsylvania — Army Lt. Gen. Aundre F. Piggee, G-4 deputy chief of staff, and members of his team visited DLA Distribution headquarters June 27 for an overview of DLA Distribution, and a tour of DLA Distribution Susquehanna’s Eastern Distribution Center, the largest storage facility in the Department of Defense.

DLA Land and Maritime senior leaders gathered in the Defense Supply Center Columbus Operations Center conference room June 29 to formally receive the 2016 Commander In Chief’s Award for Installation Excellence. The award recognizes outstanding achievement in several areas of installation management including quality of life, unit morale, energy conservation, environmental stewardship, safety and mission support.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Defense Logistics Agency Land and Maritime received the Commander in Chief’s Award for installation excellence during a video teleconference ceremony June 29.

The induction ceremony will be Sept. 22 at the McNamara Headquarters Complex, Fort Belvoir, Virginia.
