From expeditionary to enduring: 386th ECES conducts base improvements

SOUTHWEST ASIA — Logistics In Action: Article originally appeared on the 386th Air Expeditionary Wing website — The 386th, in conjunction with U.S. Air Forces Central Command and its subordinate units, has set about executing a long-term strategy to upgrade its facilities and make them more enduring. These projects will improve the quality of life for Airmen and, more importantly, the wing’s ability to execute wars against the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria, as well as other adversaries.

The Defense Logistics Agency didn’t exist during Washington’s or Lincoln’s presidency, but history shows DLA’s services would have been invaluable to both leaders.

Former commander returns, gives Air Force customer perspective at SLC

Richmond, Virginia — Defense Logistics Agency Aviation leadership and strategic partners came together for the activities annual Senior Leadership Conference Feb. 7-9 on Defense Supply Center Richmond, Virginia. Former DLA Aviation Commander Air Force Brig. Gen. Mark Johnson who is the current commander of the Oklahoma City Air Logistics Complex at Tinker Air Force Base, Oklahoma, returned to Richmond to speak with senior leaders from an Air Force customer perspective.

Army Implements New, Improved Ammunition Management System

Employee Spotlight: Stephen Robinson

Richmond, Virginia — Stephen Robinson is a new security specialist for Defense Logistics Agency Intelligence located at Defense Supply Center Richmond, Virginia. When he’s not securing operations, information and industrial programs for DLA Aviation, he’s spending time with his family on his boat or hunting.

DLA Distribution’s first material processing center officially opens in Salalah, Oman

SALALAH, Oman — DLA Distribution Salalah, Oman held a ribbon cutting ceremony for the new material processing center on Feb. 9. DLA Energy’s commanding general, Air Force Brig. Gen. Martin A. Chapin officiated the ceremony.

DLA employee opens up about battling cancer

An employee of DLA Information Operations discusses his recent battle with cancer and how his family, friends, and DLA coworkers helped him in the fight.

Marines with 2nd Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force out of Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, worked with 1st Marine Logistics Group, 1st Supply Battalion, Supply Company Marine Air Ground Task Force, MAGTF Marine Materiel Distribution Center to prepare equipment for transport with RFID tags and SHOUT nano devices, tracking equipment from Marine Corps Logistics Base Barstow, California, and Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center 29 Palms, to and from the National Training Center at Fort Irwin, Feb. 7.

Marines and Soldiers train with RFID and Shout nano in tracking Railops

MARINE CORPS LOGISTICS BASE BARSTOW, Calif. — Logistics In Action: Article originally appeared on the Marine Corps website — Marines from Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, California, and Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, joined with soldiers from the National Training Center, Fort Irwin, California, to test in-transit visibility of equipment being transported from west coast to east coast bases using Radio Frequency Identification and SHOUT nano devices aboard Marine Corps Logistics Base Barstow, Calif., Jan 27.

Prayer, meditation room gives HQC employees calm atmosphere to practice spirituality
