Morgart recognized for achievements as commander of San Diego distribution center, set to retire after 29 years of service

SAN DIEGO, California — Navy Supply Corps Capt. Andrew S. Morgart has been awarded the Defense Superior Service Medal for his achievements while serving as commander, Defense Logistics Agency Distribution San Diego, Calif. The award was one of many recognitions Morgart received in honor of his 29 years of service to the United States Navy.

Defense Logistics Agency Distribution Europe’s Theater Consolidation and Shipping Point has been awarded the Global Distribution Excellence: Henry T. Flint Shipping Point of the Year award.

Europe distribution center wins Henry T. Flint Shipping Point of the Year award

GERMERSHEIM, Germany — Defense Logistics Agency Distribution Europe’s Theater Consolidation and Shipping Point has been awarded the Global Distribution Excellence: Henry T. Flint Shipping Point of the Year award for its cost savings initiatives and humanitarian support efforts.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is using a 65-ton crane provided by DLA Troop Support Pacific for hydraulic hoist maintenance on lift gates at the Albeni Falls Dam in Idaho. The dam converts river water into hydroelectricity, reduces floods and provides recreational activities.

Crane delivery helps lift support to USACE in Northwest

PHILADELPHIA — DLA Troop Support Pacific recently provided the muscle for the heavy lifting required to help maintain the Albeni Falls Dam in Idaho.

NEW CUMBERLAND, Pennsylvania — Members and friends of Defense Distribution Center Susquehanna’s Depot Women’s Club visited Defense Logistics Agency Distribution Susquehanna, Pa., on July 17 to discuss the history and mission of both the club and the installation.

Warner’s Carter wins Global Distribution Excellence: Quality Assurance Civilian of the Year award

WARNER ROBINS, Georgia — Eric Carter, general supply specialist at Defense Logistics Agency Distribution Warner Robins, Ga., has been awarded the Global Distribution Excellence: Quality Assurance Civilian of the Year award for his contributions to the distribution center’s Audit Readiness.

Small business broadcast covers progress, initiatives, priorities

Fort Belvoir, Virginia — The Defense Logistics Agency has been very successful in small business acquisition, and customer outreach and market research are key to maintaining that success, an official from the office of the secretary of defense said July 23 at the DLA small business and acquisition broadcast.

A contract carrier is being fueled at the Fort Wainwright aviation fuel facility after delivering 120 fire fighters from North Carolina and Virginia to help fight fires in interior Alaska. The Fort Wainwright aviation fuel facility is one of nine different bases throughout Alaska that DLA Energy Pacific supplies fuel to on a monthly basis.

Jet fuel demand soars for Alaska firefighting operations

FORT WAINWRIGHT, Alaska — A record-breaking fire season in Alaska is increasing demands for cold weather jet fuel supplied by Defense Logistics Agency Energy Pacific at Alaska to support firefighting operations.

Former Distribution field commander returns as Disposition deputy
