Rittenhouse recognized for achievements as commander of Tobyhanna distribution center

TOBYHANNA, Pennsylvania — Army Lt. Col. Michael “Troy” Rittenhouse has been awarded the Defense Meritorious Service Medal for his achievements while serving as commander, Defense Logistics Agency Distribution Tobyhanna, Pa.

Donna and Calvin Andrew, the parents of Nansi Malesic, an employee at the DLA Document Services White House production facility, pose for a picture with President Barack Obama in Utah. The Andrews met Obama after their daughter commented to members of the White House Office of the Staff Secretary that she could fly home when they went to Utah.

President surprises DLA employee’s parents

HILL AIR FORCE BASE, Utah — Calvin and Donna Andrew, Utah residents and parents of DLA Document Services employee Nansi Malesic, got to meet the president thanks to some lighthearted banter between Malesic and members of the White House Office of the Staff Secretary.

Busch shares leadership principles, future outlook at Distribution town hall

NEW CUMBERLAND, Pennsylvania — Navigating the Defense Logistics Agency through an unknown future was the focus of DLA Director Air Force Lt. Gen. Andy Busch’s first address to the DLA Distribution workforce during a May 11 town hall in New Cumberland, Pennsylvania.

Byron Davis is presented the DLA Meritorious Service Award by DLA Distribution Commander Army Brig. Gen. Richard Dix for performing CPR on a co-worker exhibiting signs of a heart attack.

Susquehanna employees honored for saving the life of a teammate

SUSQUEHANNA, Pennsylvania — Following an act of selfless service and response to a coworker in distress, five employees at Defense Logistics Agency Distribution Susquehanna, Pennsylvania, were honored for their actions on the day they saved the life of an employee in the Receiving Branch.

Preregistration tools coming to WebFLIS site

BATTLE CREEK, Michigan — Defense Logistics Agency Logistics Information Services has released tools to help users of the Web-based version of the Federal Logistics Information System, or WebFLIS, maintain access as the preregistration period for the system's move to a new platform begins in May.

DLA officials announce 2014 agency Hall of Fame inductees

FORT BELVOIR, Virginia — Five new members will be inducted into the Defense Logistics Agency Hall of Fame in a July ceremony in recognition of their service to the agency, DLA Director Air Force Lt. Gen. Andy Busch announced May 15.

U.S. Service members with the Joint Task Force 505 prepare boxes of aid and relief supplies to be loaded onto an aircraft at Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu, Nepal, May 14, in order for the supplies to be delivered to remote locations during Operation Sahayogi Haat. JTF 505 along with other multinational forces and humanitarian relief organizations are currently in Nepal providing aid after a 7.8 magnitude earthquake struck the country, April 25 and a 7.3 earthquake on May 12.
