Susquehanna installation senior advisor selected for USASMA

NEW CUMBERLAND, Pennsylvania — Army 1st Sgt. Michael S. Warren, Defense Distribution Center, Susquehanna installation senior enlisted advisor, has been selected to attend the U.S. Army Sergeants Major Academy at Ft. Bliss, Texas.

128th Aviation Brigade learns about DLA Aviation missions

RICHMOND, Virginia — Defense Logistics Agency Aviation at Richmond hosted a leadership professional development event for the 128th Aviation Brigade from Fort Eustis, Virginia Jan. 21, 2016. The training provided awareness and knowledge of DLA and how it interfaces with Army tactical units. The 128th conducts all Army Aviation maintenance training for enlisted and warrant officers and pushes about 6,000 students through the program annually.

Distribution leadership hosts DLA Command Sergeant Major

NEW CUMBERLAND, Pennsylvania — Defense Logistics Agency Senior Enlisted Leader Army Command Sgt. Maj. Charles Tobin along with USTRANSCOM Command Sgt. Maj. William Turner and Army Sgt. Maj. Rodger Mansker visited DLA Distribution on Jan. 20 to learn how the organization performs storage and distribution functions for the military services and other key customers.

DLA Director hosts town hall with Red River employees

RED RIVER, Texas — Defense Logistics Agency Director Air Force Lt. Gen. Andy Busch visited DLA Distribution Red River, Texas, on Dec. 18.

Whitehall SWAT team member Sgt. Chad Huntzinger explained what actions the DSCC workforce should take in the immediate moments in the unlikely event an active shooter situation unfolds in Columbus at DLA Land and Maritime.

DSCC conducts active shooter response training

COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Whitehall Police Department and Defense Supply Center Columbus teamed up to hold active shooter response training Jan. 14 inside the Building 20 Auditorium. In front of family members, friends and co-workers, the Stephen F. Byus Community Center was dedicated Jan. 21 during a ceremony on the installation. Suzanna Byus, Stephen's mother, and Navy Rear Adm. John King, DLA Land and Maritime commander, unveil the plaque that will be permanently displayed inside the center.

DLA Land and Maritime cements legacy of fallen hero

COLUMBUS, Ohio — DLA Land and Maritime on Jan. 21 paid a final tribute to one if its own, renaming a newly renovated building to honor a fallen hero, Stephen Byus.

First RAB meeting of 2016 held

RICHMOND, Virginia — Community members attended the Defense Logistics Agency Installation Support at Richmond’s environmental cleanup program quarterly Restoration Advisory Board (RAB) meeting January 11 at the Bensley Community Center in Chesterfield County.DLA Installation Support at Richmond's environmental office conducted the quarterly RAB meeting and provided program updates on groundwater testing results and remediation activities for operable units on center.

Construction is underway on the new Defense Logistics Agency Aviation operations center on Defense Supply Center Richmond, Virginia. Phase I of the project is scheduled to be complete by late summer 2018. When completed, the five-story building will house roughly 875 employees.

DLA Aviation Operations Center Phase I construction in full swing

RICHMOND, Virginia — Construction on the new five-story Defense Logistics Agency Aviation Operations Center on Defense Supply Center Richmond, Virginia is in full swing and a great deal of progress has been made since the groundbreaking ceremony back on Oct. 15, 2015.

New Army recruits receive updated operational camouflage pattern Army combat uniforms and accessories at Fort Benning, Georgia, Dec. 20. Approximately 1,300 recruits at Fort Benning have already been issued the fiscal year 2016 clothing bag, which includes OCP ACUs and accessories.

Recruits receive new Army uniforms as rollout continues

PHILADELPHIA — Army recruits will now join soldiers already wearing the Operational Camouflage Pattern as the rollout of the new Army Combat Uniform continues.

Employees can check for changes in the local operating status at www.dla.mil/distribution or by signing up for email alerts and/or text messages from AtHoc, DLA’s Emergency Mass Notification System.
