Fairness, respect focus of LGBT Pride Month event at HQC

Fort Belvoir, VA — Mutual respect and tolerance can eliminate barriers that keep lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender federal employees from giving their best, a guest speaker from the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission said during an LGBT Pride Month observance June 17 at the McNamara Headquarters Complex.

MANAMA, Bahrain — Paul A. McMillan assumed command of Defense Logistics Agency Distribution Bahrain, Southwest Asia, in a ceremony June 18. The ceremony was officiated by DLA Distribution commander Army Brig. Gen. Richard Dix.

Hunter recognized for achievements as first commander of Bahrain distribution center

MANAMA, Bahrain — Navy Supply Corps Cmdr. Julie M. Hunter has been awarded the Defense Meritorious Service Medal for her achievements while serving as commander, Defense Logistics Agency Distribution Bahrain, Southwest Asia.

San Joaquin hosts Expeditionary Academy

SAN JOAQUIN, California — DLA Distribution Expeditionary team members at DLA Distribution San Joaquin, Calif., hosted a two-day Expeditionary Academy for the Distribution Operations Team San Joaquin Navy Reserve unit June 6 to provide hands-on training in assembling and building a deployable campus.

Quartermaster soldiers set up a fuel station in Camp Pendleton, Calif., as part of Quartermaster Liquid Logistics Exercise 2014. QLLEX is a joint forces exercise that 64 units at eight locations across the continental U.S. will deliver more than 3.25 million gallons of petroleum and produce 479,000 gallons of water, designed to challenge and develop the battalion's staff military decision making skills. Energy personnel support QLLEX

FORT MCCOY, Wisconsin — Defense Logistics Agency Energy personnel have deployed to multiple states in support of the Army’s annual bulk petroleum and bulk water exercise, June 7-20.

Distribution’s first female director of an OCONUS location reflects on 24 years of service

MARIANAS, Guam — Macy Ooka has spent her life on the Pacific island of Guam, and has worked for the federal government for 24 years. Now Defense Logistics Agency Distribution Guam’s director, she began her career as a temporary GS-01 for Naval Supply Depot Security during Operation Desert Storm in 1991.
