NEW CUMBERLAND, Pa. — This Fourth of July marks the 242nd anniversary of our nation’s birth, the day when brave and dedicated patriots, representatives of the 13 colonies then fighting in the revolutionary struggle, signed a resolution that would declare independence of the United States from Great Britain and founded a nation based on freedom. From that day to this, the world has never been the same…but America continues to stand for freedom.

DLA Distribution Expeditionary team provides real world logistics support to Exercise Saber Strike and Operation Atlantic Resolve

POWIDZ, Poland — After nearly two years of planning, DLA Distribution’s Deployment Expeditionary Team deployed to Powidz, Poland in support of Exercise Saber Strike 18 and Operation Atlantic Resolve. Saber Strike is the platform to validate U.S. forces collective capability to rapidly respond to and reinforce Allies in a time of crisis. Operation Atlantic Resolve is a real-world multinational training and security cooperation activity taking place in Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Bulgaria and Hungary.

RICHMOND, Va. — Darryl E. Braxton started working for the Department of Defense May 21, 1974, at the Directorate of Storage and Transportation depot in Richmond, Virginia. A few years later the depot name was changed to Defense Depot Richmond, Virginia.

DLA Distribution Center Yokosuka, Japan Welcomes SOLE

YOKOSUKA, Japan — One of the most unique opportunities leadership in DLA Distribution Centers positioned outside the United States have is the sharing of logistics’ concepts through multi-national, Key Leadership Engagements. One such engagement for DLA Distribution Yokosuka, Japan was with the Japan Chapter of the International Society of Logistics or SOLE, on May 25, 2018. A total of 26 members of the Society visited DLA Distribution Yokosuka, Japan to learn and observe the operation and to exchange views and thoughts as professional logisticians.

DLA Distribution pilots new Warehouse and Transportation Management System at Corpus Christi site

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — DLA Distribution Corpus Christi, Texas, has launched a commercial, off-the-shelf Warehouse Management System- the first of its kind within the network. The system is designed to offer flexible, automated support for processing various goods movements and for managing stocks within the distribution center.
