Yokosuka inventory director retires after 40 years of federal service

YOKOSUKA, Japan — Diane Jarvi, inventory director at DLA Distribution Yokosuka, Japan, is saying goodbye to the DLA family upon her retirement from federal service after 40 years of dedicated service to the nation, DLA Distribution Yokosuka, Japan and the warfighter. Her official retirement date was July 1.

DLA Distribution Expeditionary team provides real world logistics support to Exercise Saber Strike and Operation Atlantic Resolve

POWIDZ, Poland — After nearly two years of planning, DLA Distribution’s Deployment Expeditionary Team deployed to Powidz, Poland in support of Exercise Saber Strike 18 and Operation Atlantic Resolve. Saber Strike is the platform to validate U.S. forces collective capability to rapidly respond to and reinforce Allies in a time of crisis. Operation Atlantic Resolve is a real-world multinational training and security cooperation activity taking place in Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Bulgaria and Hungary.

RICHMOND, Va. — Darryl E. Braxton started working for the Department of Defense May 21, 1974, at the Directorate of Storage and Transportation depot in Richmond, Virginia. A few years later the depot name was changed to Defense Depot Richmond, Virginia.

One such engagement for DLA Distribution Yokosuka, Japan was with the Japan Chapter of the International Society of Logistics or SOLE, on May 25, 2018. A total of 26 members of the Society visited DLA Distribution Yokosuka, Japan to learn and observe the operation and to exchange views and thoughts as professional logisticians.
