Oklahoma City’s Freed awarded Global Distribution Excellence: Inventory Management Civilian of the Year

OKLAHOMA CITY, Oklahoma — Lance Freed, a general supply specialist with the Defense Logistics Agency Distribution Oklahoma City, Okla., has been awarded the Global Distribution Excellence: Inventory Management Civilian of the Year Award for his contributions to the distribution center’s inventory accuracy and performance.

Distribution headquarters kicks off OSHA Voluntary Protection Program with Area Safety Representatives

NEW CUMBERLAND, Pennsylvania — As part of ongoing efforts to improve occupational safety and health across Defense Logistics Agency Distribution, the Susquehanna installation kicked off the Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s Voluntary Protection Program with Area Safety Representatives on Aug. 12.

JACKSONVILLE, Florida — Charles Crumb has been selected as the new deputy commander of Defense Logistics Agency Distribution Jacksonville, Fla.

Armando “Bud” Budomo, facilities manager at DLA Distribution San Diego, Calif., completed the Department of Defense Operation Warfighter program.

San Diego employee participates in the DoD Operation Warfighter Program

SAN DIEGO, California — Armando “Bud” Budomo dedicated 21 years of his life to serving his country. The decision to retire from the United States Marine Corps was not one taken lightly, without thought to the future. After careful consideration, the newly retired major made the decision to apply to the Department of Defense Operation Warfighter program, with the goal of gaining experience to find a permanent home in the Department of Defense civilian workforce.

Defense Logistics Agency Distribution participates in USTRANSCOM’s Turbo Distribution exercises

LAKEHURST, New Jersey — Recently, a team from Defense Logistics Agency Distribution Headquarters traveled to Lakehurst, N.J., to participate in the U.S. Transportation Command’s assessment of Joint Task Force Port Opening airport and distribution operations.

YOKOSUKA, Japan — Hirokazu Tokunaga has been named Global Distribution Excellence: Vehicle/Materiel Handling Equipment Management Civilian Supervisor of the Year for his focus on customer service and safety.

Sheldon Parson, the transportation officer at Defense Logistics Agency Distribution Norfolk, Va., at Portsmouth, has served in a variety of jobs throughout his almost-15 year career.

Sergio M. Camagong, material handler at Defense Logistics Agency Distribution Puget Sound, Wash., has been named Employee of the Quarter award for third quarter, fiscal year 2015.

Puget Sound’s Camagong named DLA Distribution Employee of the Quarter

PUGET SOUND, Washington — Sergio M. Camagong, material handler at Defense Logistics Agency Distribution Puget Sound, Wash., has been named Employee of the Quarter for third quarter, fiscal year 2015 for his steadfast dedication to supporting Naval customers.

Marine Corps customers drop the sides of a truck so materiel can be unloaded. The Marines are customers of DLA Distribution Yokosuka, Japan, at Okinawa.
