San Joaquin achieves positive results during recent DoD IG Audit

SAN JOAQUIN, California — The DLA Distribution San Joaquin, Calif., team is doing their part in helping DLA remain on track to comply with DoD Financial Improvement and Audit Readiness, or FIAR, guidance. The team successfully completed their DoD Inspector General Audit, which focused on substantive testing on the Plan to Stock business cycle and San Joaquin’s inventory profile.

DLA Distribution commander mentors local middle school students through Junior Achievement Program of Central Pennsylvania

NEW CUMBERLAND, Pennsylvania — Late last month, Defense Logistics Agency Distribution commander Army Brig. Gen. Richard Dix took time out of his busy schedule to volunteer with the Junior Achievement Program of Central Pennsylvania.

Royelle Simmons, a stock clerk at DLA Distribution Jacksonville, Fla., picks items for the warfighter. Simmons is an employee of the small business that operates the distribution center.

A community celebrates DLA Distribution’s incoming and outgoing leaders with Hail and Farewell

TEXARKANA, Texas — Friends, family, coworkers and local government officials gathered together inside the Texarkana College’s Truman Arnold Student Center for the Hail and Farewell ceremony of Army Lt. Col. Anthony A. Stoeger and Army Lt. Col. Milton G. Kelly June 11. The ceremony was hosted by the Texarkana Chamber of Commerce.

OKLAHOMA CITY, Oklahoma — Jimmie Rickey, acting operations division chief at Defense Logistics Agency Distribution Oklahoma City, Okla., was named DLA Employee of the Quarter for the second quarter of this fiscal year.

MANAMA, Bahrain — Navy Supply Corps Cmdr. Julie M. Hunter has been awarded the Defense Meritorious Service Medal for her achievements while serving as commander, Defense Logistics Agency Distribution Bahrain, Southwest Asia.

SAN JOAQUIN, California — DLA Distribution Expeditionary team members at DLA Distribution San Joaquin, Calif., hosted a two-day Expeditionary Academy for the Distribution Operations Team San Joaquin Navy Reserve unit June 6 to provide hands-on training in assembling and building a deployable campus.
