DLA Troop Support announces annual employee award winners

DLA Troop Support announced the 2022 awardees for Team of the Year, Supervisor of the Year, and Employee of the Year on January 31.

Product Test Center brings augmented reality to vendor partners

PHILADELPHIA — The Product Test Center Analytical at Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support introduced augmented reality headsets for the purposes of performing remote inspections for DLA Troop Support Clothing and Textile suppliers during a demonstration on January 9th.

PHILADELPHIA — The Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support commander spoke at an Anheuser Busch Logistics Professional Development Session Feb. 11 to discuss his organization’s logistical capabilities and practices.

Carolina Cabrera DiGiorgio, President and CEO of Congreso de Latina Unidos, was the keynote speaker at DLA Troop Support's Hispanic Heritage Month Observation program. DiGiorgio shared stories of her life and how they shaped who she is today.

DLA Troop Support celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month

PHILADELPHIA — Members of the Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support and Naval Supply Systems Command Weapon Systems Support celebrated the rich cultures, traditions and contributions of the Hispanic community during a virtual National Hispanic Heritage Month program Oct. 14.

The Defense Logistics Agency purchased over 3 million rapid “point-of-care” antigen tests Aug. 21 to distribute to over 14,000 nursing homes nationwide.

DLA Troop Support buys antigen test kits for nation’s nursing homes

PHILADELPHIA — DLA Troop Support has purchased over 3 million antigen tests for distribution to nursing homes across the country to support the nation’s COVID-19 response.

Troop Support celebrates Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders during virtual presentation

PHILADELPHIA — Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support employees celebrated Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month during a virtual presentation July 29. Keynote speaker Sandy Hoa Dang, a social entrepreneur, experienced executive, leadership trainer, and management consultant, shared experiences from her life to give the audience a small glimpse into a large and rich Asian American Pacific Islander story.

The AFRH recently became a Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support customer, able to order class VIII medical supplies, and take advantage of the agency’s other procurement abilities.

Medical provides support to veteran Warfighters

PHILADELPHIA — The Medical Customer Operations Collective (Whole of Government) division recently on boarded the Armed Forces Retirement Homes in response to a high-visibility request that came down from the Office of the Assistant of the Secretary of Defense Health Affairs.

DLA orders protective equipment for US nursing homes

PHILADELPHIA — The Defense Logistics Agency ordered about $134 million in personal protective equipment for U.S. nursing homes amid COVID-19. The White House Coronavirus Task Force requested the items, funded by the Federal Emergency Management Agency, to equip medical staffs at approximately 14,900 Medicaid- and Medicare-certified locations with 14 days of protective gear. Nursing homes will receive the gear in two shipments, each with seven days’ worth of PPE.

DLA customer support liaison assists FEMA in national COVID-19 response

PHILADELPHIA — Jim Mead is used to coordinating with federal agencies as a customer support liaison with the Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support’s Operations and Plans Directorate in Philadelphia.
