DLA Troop Support hosts US Army Central Command Food Advisor visit

PHILADELPHIA — The Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support Subsistence supply chain hosted a visit from United States Army Central Command Food Advisor Chief Warrant Officer 5 George Davis in Philadelphia on Oct. 19, 2023. The purpose of his visit was to reinforce a longstanding relationship between ARCENT and Troop Support.

A delegation from the Republic of Korea Ministry of Defense including Director of Weapon and Equipment Division Republic of Korea Armed Forces Col Yongheup Kim; Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear Logistics Policy Manager; visited Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support on Sept. 21, 2023, in Philadelphia. The purpose of the visit was to provide a DLA Troop Support overview and tour of facilities to share industry practices.

How does the Department of Defense employ a salad robot?

PHILADELPHIA — Back in December of 2021, the Monarch dining facility at Travis Air Force Base, Fairfield, California, was the first in the Department of Defense to acquire “Alfred, the salad robot.”

DLA Distribution San Joaquin adds E-ration to its distribution repertoire

TRACY, Calif. — DLA Distribution San Joaquin, California, employees started to pack, store and ship express rations in support of DLA Troop Support requirements in May 2023. E-Rations, utilized by the Marine Corps and the Army, replace the need for kitchen equipment and allow warfighters to have a hot meal in any combat or training environment.

Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support was honored with the inaugural Federal Executive Board Member Spotlight Award at the FEB Excellence in Government Awards ceremony held May 4 in Philadelphia. DLA Troop Support Deputy Commander Kishayra J. Lambert accepted the award on behalf of the organization.

DLA Troop Support creates Survivor Daily Rations for FEMA

PHILADELPHIA — Feeding disaster survivors is one of the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s core response capabilities and is one of the first initiatives requested at the onset of most disasters.

Tim Griffin, DLA Troop Support Subsistence branch director, visited Custom Mobile Food Equipment in Hammonton, N.J., on Mar. 31, 2023, to observe the vendor’s progress on producing food trucks the will be used to serve military installations. Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support partners with various military components to deliver food trucks to military bases across the country and continually works to deliver optimal, global supply chain solutions to enable ready, lethal Warfighters and other valued partners.

Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support held a civilian retirement ceremony to honor Waldemar J. Caro Acosta, Clothing and Textiles supply chain customer account specialist, on Feb. 22, 2023. The Clothing and Textiles supply chain provides clothing, textiles and equipment to U.S. service members, other federal agencies and partner nations.
