DLA acquisition supports Operation Warp Speed COVID-19 vaccine distribution

PHILADELPHIA — In order to facilitate DLA’s role in the Operation Warp Speed COVID-19 vaccine distribution plan, the first 30,200 doses of the Moderna vaccine destined for OCONUS and deployed Navy Fleet requirements were ordered on Dec. 11 by the organization’s pharmaceutical support arm in anticipation of an Emergency Use Authorization from the Food and Drug Administration.

Partnerships, innovation enable medical material availability

PHILADELPHIA — Vendors rolling out new items they want to sell to the Defense Department need stock numbers assigned to those supplies so customers and government systems have a common reference. The Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support’s Medical Supplier Support Team normally handles this for items like surgical and hospital equipment.
