DLA Energy Americas assists in bringing fuel, clean water to QLLEX 2016

FORT A.P. Hill, Virginia — As Quartermaster Liquid Logistics Exercise 2016 approaches its end, the two-week training exercise has largely been a success.

MCRD Parris Island was one of three recruit training centers to receive the DLA distribution standard system, an audit ready inventory tracking software that provides better accountability of DLA assets at RTCs.

With audit ready software, DLA better tracks recruit training center inventory

PHILADELPHIA — In the spirit of audit readiness, DLA is installing inventory tracking software at military recruit training centers across the country.

Defense Supply Center Columbus personnel stack donations of canned foods during the annual Feds Feed Families campaign. Each year, donations from federal employees support the Mid-Ohio Food Bank's Operation Feed food drive, bringing essential items to central Ohio families in need.

2016 Feds Feed Families campaign underway at DSCC

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Defense Supply Center Columbus has once again partnered with the Mid-Ohio Food Bank to help fight hunger in the region. The 2016 Feds Feed Families food drive officially kicked of June 1, and personnel on the installation will have several options to participate in the program throughout the summer.

Susquehanna installation’s oldest building celebrates grand reopening

NEW CUMBERLAND, Pennsylvania — The Defense Distribution Center, Susquehanna installation celebrated the official reopening of its Susquehanna Club with a ribbon cutting ceremony on June 15. Installation leadership, employees and community members came together to observe the renovations to the centuries-old barn that now serves as an event venue.

Distribution headquarters celebrates the 241st Army birthday

NEW CUMBERLAND, Pennsylvania — In a ceremony held in the DLA Distribution Headquarters lobby, senior leaders, military members and civilian staff celebrated the U.S. Army’s 241st Birthday on June 14, 2016. As one of his last official actions as commanding general, Army Brig. Gen. Richard B. Dix spoke about the significance and history, followed by presentation of several awards honoring Distribution headquarters staff.

SAN JOAQUIN, California — Marine Corps Col. André T. Harrell assumed command of Defense Logistics Agency Distribution San Joaquin, Calif., in a ceremony on June 22. The ceremony was officiated by DLA Distribution commander Army Brig. Gen. John S. Laskodi.

DSCR fire chief joins USA team for ITU Duathlon World Championship

Don Rodgers, Defense Logistics Agency Installation Support at Richmond, Virginia’s fire chief, competed on the USA Team June 4-6 in the International Triathlon Union’s Duathlon World Championship held in Avilȇs, Spain. Rodgers was one of approximately 60 competitors in his 50- to 54-year-old age group competing in the sprint distance duathlon.
