Oklahoma third graders appreciate produce provided by Troop Support

PHILADELPHIA — Plums, apples, carrots and lemon water are just a few produce items third graders at Eugene Field Elementary School were thankful for during their summer school program.

Susquehanna installation hosts former hostage Matt Schrier

NEW CUMBERLAND, Pennsylvania — Defense Distribution Center Susquehanna recently hosted photographer and former Syrian hostage Matt Schrier for the quarterly Force Protection Lecture Series, which highlighted Schrier’s strategies to survive and detailed how he was able to escape the situation and return to the United States.

DLA Energy Pacific at Korea command changes hands

SEOUL, Korea — Defense Logistics Agency Energy Pacific at Korea’s leadership changed hands when Army Lt. Col. Wheeler Manning relinquished command to Army Lt. Col. Faith Chamberlain in Seoul, Korea, June 28.

Dolores Brown, foreign policy advisor to Director of the Defense Logistics Agency, visits DLA Distribution headquarters to learn about how the organization services the warfighter worldwide.

DLA’s foreign policy advisor visits Distribution headquarters and largest operation

NEW CUMBERLAND, Pennsylvania — Dolores Brown, foreign policy advisor to the Director of the Defense Logistics Agency, made her inaugural visit to DLA Distribution headquarters in late June to learn more about how Distribution functions within the larger DLA operation, and to learn more about how Distribution services the warfighter worldwide.

The 20-story tall Atlas V rocket launches from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, Florida, June 24. Defense Logistics Agency Aerospace Energy personnel provided rocket propellant-1 or highly purified kerosene and liquid oxygen for the engine powering the Atlas booster, as well as high purity hydrazine and dinitrogen tetroxide to maneuver and control the payloads once in orbit.

Aerospace Energy contributes to Atlas V launch

CAPE CANAVERAL AIR FORCE STATION, Florida — Defense Logistics Agency Aerospace Energy personnel partnered with the Navy, Air Force and other organizations to provide the way for the 20-story tall Atlas V rocket launch at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, Florida, June 24.

Bruce Mayo, branch manager for the East Bulk Branch at DLA Distribution Susquehanna, Pa., has been named Employee of the Week for the week of June 27 to July 1.

NEW CUMBERLAND, Pennsylvania — Bruce Mayo, branch manager for the East Bulk Branch at DLA Distribution Susquehanna, Pa., has been named Employee of the Week for the week of June 27 to July 1.

DLA now has a fully operational program to detect and counter insider threats.

Teams safeguard employees against insider threats

The Defense Logistics Agency will be the first of 43 Department of Defense components to have a fully operational insider-threat program, achieving this goal well ahead of the Dec. 31 deadline.

Agency wins 5 Value Engineering Awards

Arlington, VIRGINIA — One Defense Logistics Agency employee and four teams were awarded Department of Defense Value Engineering Achievement Awards for fiscal 2015 at a Pentagon ceremony, June 28.
