New Joint Reserve Force director visits with troops in Richmond

Navy Rear Adm. Grafton Chase, director, Defense Logistics Agency Joint Reserve Force, met with DLA Aviation Commander Air Force Brig. Gen. David Sanford and members of the JRF in Richmond, Virginia, Feb. 8. The visit took place on a drill weekend inside the DLA Aviation Operations center on Defense Supply Center Richmond, Virginia.

Military Sealift Command, Seabees support Operation Deep Freeze

Logistics In Action: Article originally appeared on the U.S. Indo-Pacific Command website — Military Sealift Command-chartered container ship MV Ocean Giant is currently conducting cargo offloads in one of the most remote and challenging environments on the planet; McMurdo Station, Antarctica. The operation is part of MSC’s annual resupply mission in support of Operation Deep Freeze, the Joint Task Force Support for Antarctica mission to resupply the remote scientific outpost.

Carter G. Woodson nominees announced

The Defense Supply Center Columbus has named the 2020 Carter G. Woodson Award nominees. The annual award recognizes two individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the African American community – one each from the Central Ohio community and the Defense Federal community. Past recipients include former Columbus Mayor Michael Coleman, Congresswoman Joyce Beatty and Charles Tennant, the founder of Columbus’ Africentric School.

Established in 1845, Columbus City Schools is Ohio’s largest school district and serves more than 51,000 students.
