Former Distribution commander honored with newly named Gainey Auditorium

NEW CUMBERLAND, Pa. — DLA Distribution commanding general, Army Brig. Gen. John S. Laskodi dedicated the DLA Distribution Headquarters auditorium to former Distribution commanding general, retired Army Lt. Gen. Kathleen M. Gainey on March 14.

Reserve members gather for joint leadership review

While most Defense Logistics Agency employees were gearing up for a weekend respite, more than 75 members of DLA’s Joint Reserve Force gathered at the McNamara Headquarters Complex at Fort Belvoir, Virginia, for their Mid-Year Leadership Review, March 16-18.

MANAMA, Bahrain — Army Maj. Gen. Flem B. "Donnie" Walker Jr., commanding general, 1st Sustainment Command (Theater) and deputy commanding general‐ Sustainment for United States Army Central, visited Defense Logistics Agency Distribution Bahrain, Southwest Asia on Feb. 27. DLA Distribution Bahrain Commander, Navy Cmdr. Charles Tellis and his leadership team provided a command brief and a tour of the facilities.

DLA R&D boosts performance, safety for batteries powering weapons systems

Recent work led by DLA’s Battery Network R&D program includes the development of a new lithium ion-based power system for the TOW 2 anti-tank missile and new lead-acid batteries used on armored vehicles, such as the Bradley Fighting Vehicle.
