Joint Reserve Force reaffirms commitment to DLA at annual summit

COLUMBUS, Ohio — DLA Land and Maritime’s Joint Reserve Team hosted their annual summit for members of the Army, Navy, Air Force and Marine Corps to emphasize their supply and logistics support capabilities.

Welcome Center launches new Visitor Management System

Richmond, Virginia — The Welcome Center at Defense Supply Center Richmond, Virginia, installed a new system to track customer needs and wait times Nov 3. The VMS is designed similar to a Department of Motor Vehicles queuing system.

Marine Corps celebrates 241st birthday in Columbus

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Military members from all services and civilians at DLA Land and Maritime recently gathered in the building 20 auditorium to celebrate the 241st birthday of the United States Marine Corps. The focal point in the Marine’s Birthday celebration is the cake cutting ceremony which symbolizes the connection between Marines past, present and future.

DLA Aviation and Ft. Lee military celebrate Veterans Day with local veterans

Richmond, Virginia — Defense Logistics Agency Aviation military members from Defense Supply Center Richmond, Virginia, and students from the Army Logistics University’s Basic Officer Leadership Course and the Army Instructor Training Course from Fort Lee, came together to visit veterans at local facilities in Hopewell on Nov. 9 and Nov. 11. The visit was to honor and remember the former and current veterans for their sacrifices in preserving our freedoms. The group visited and presented certificates to 15 veteran residents at Gentiva Hospice Center’s River View on the Appomattox facility.

RICHMOND, Va. — Defense Logistics Agency employees at Defense Supply Center Richmond, Virginia, received a glass pebble as they filled the Lotts Conference Center Nov. 15, celebrating the past year’s accomplishments in training the workforce in resiliency tools to succeed personally and professionally in ever-changing environments.

Veterans honored at annual DSCC program

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Associates honored fellow veterans during Defense Supply Center Columbus’ annual Veterans Day Program Nov. 9 inside the DLA Land and Maritime Operations Center auditorium. Mr. Alphonsa Green, the Recruiting Policy Branch Chief within the Army G-1 at the Pentagon, was the guest speaker. Green took those in attendance on a walk through the history of Veterans Day. He touched on the theme “How did we get here from there?”
