Ceremony marks new leadership in Columbus

COLUMBUS, Ohio — A new era was ushered in at Defense Supply Center Columbus as Navy Rear Adm. Michelle Skubic took over command of DLA Land and Maritime during a ceremony at the Operations Center auditorium Oct. 31.

August EOM awarded to Army CW4 in Richmond

Richmond, Virginia — Defense Logistics Agency Aviation’s August Employee of the Month Award is Aviation’s only active duty Army Chief Warrant Officer 4, Kevin Ryan, a readiness officer for the Customer Operations Directorate.

Air Force Col. Ken Ruthardt, Defense Logistics Agency Aviation commander at Oklahoma City, drops off rice at the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma donation box on Tinker Air Force Base, Oklahoma in support of the Feds Feed Families Program, which runs annually from June through August. Both DLA Aviation and DLA Distribution supported Feds Feed Families this year by challenging each other to a “food fight” to see who could donate the most food to the program.

DLA Orgs in Oklahoma City challenge each other to raise food for families

Richmond, Va. — The Feds Feed Families Campaign is an annual event that runs from June through August of each year for federal government organizations to collect food for local food banks. This year, Defense Logistics Agency organizations at Oklahoma City took the campaign to next level with a "Food Fight Challenge” between DLA Aviation and DLA Distribution, both located on Tinker Air Force Base, Oklahoma.

PEARL HARBOR, Hawaii — Defense Logistics Agency Maritime Pearl Harbor associates, along with friends and family, offer their time and services each month at volunteer events island-wide to give back to the community.

Defense Logistics Agency Installation Support at Richmond, Virginia, Fire and Emergency Services will provide flu shots to Active duty and retired military, civilian and retired employees beginning Oct. 26, 2016 in the Lott’s Conference Center from 8 a.m. to noon. Other dates scheduled are Oct. 27 and Nov. 1, from 8 a.m. to noon.

National Disability Employment Awareness Month celebrated at DSCR

Richmond, Va. — The National Disability Employment Awareness Month Program kicked off October 18 in the Lotts Conference Center on Defense Supply Center, Richmond, Virginia. Guest speaker, retired Navy Petty Officer 2nd Class Kathy Tilbury, a program management analyst with Defense Logistics Agency’s Office of Research and Resource Analysis, spoke about how adaptive sports have restored her ability to be an athlete.

More than 200 spectators surrounded the golf course pond to watch teams compete in the 2nd Annual DLA Land and Maritime Cardboard Boat Regatta. The races were part of the activities celebrating the Navy's 241st birthday, while also raising funds for the agency's Combined Federal Campaign philanthropic program.
