DLA Land and Maritime Detachments

DLA Land and Maritime has more than 2,800 associates in 30 locations worldwide to include three DLA Depot Level Reparable detachments, Army and Marine Corps industrial sites and four detachments supporting U.S. Naval shipyards. DLA Land and Maritime also has associates forward-located with Army, Navy and Marine Corps customers throughout the United States and overseas.

These detachments are responsible for assisting in the management of almost 2.6 million spare and repair parts. DLA Land and Maritime and its detachments support more than 2,000 weapon systems and more than 20,800 customers throughout the military services, civil agencies, and other Defense Department organizations. 


Detachment Mission

DLA Land and Maritime’s mission is to provide worldwide logistical support to its customers by directly supporting Navy Surface and Subsurface and Army and Marine Corps customers through dedicated customer relations, DLA Land and Maritime works with numerous suppliers to fulfill requirements for assigned stock classes across the DoD. DLA Land and Maritime also provides logistical services directly to Navy shipyards and Army/USMC industrial sites.

DLA Land Aberdeen

DLA Land Aberdeen is located 23 miles northeast of Baltimore, Maryland just off of the Chesapeake Bay. It is one of the world’s most important research, development, testing and evaluation facilities for military weapons and equipment.


Aberdeen Mission

To provide comprehensive acquisition business solutions that support America’s warfighters.

DLA Land Aberdeen plans, solicits, evaluates, negotiates, awards and administers contracts to support new purchase of depot level reparable items. DLA Land at Aberdeen’s acquisition is accomplished by contracting with industry within regulatory and statutory constraints established by the Defense Department and Congress. The nature of these purchases consists of a wide variety of products and services from batteries to state-of-the-art electronic sensors, night vision equipment, highly sophisticated satellite communications, command and control systems, and many types of software.

DLA Land and Maritime Albany is based at Marine Corps Logistics Base Albany   in Albany, Georgia.


Albany Mission

The DLA Land and Maritime Marine Industrial Support Activity acts as the principal advisor and assistant to the DLA Land and Maritime commander on all industrial supply material matters and related activities in support of the Marine Depot Maintenance Command (MDMC) maintenance depots at Marine Corps Logistics Base Albany.

ISA provides “one-face to the customer” for all DLA business areas supporting MDMC and is dependent on the other DLA supply chains to support this relationship.

DLA Maritime Mechanicsburg

DLA Maritime Mechanicsburg is located at Naval Support Activity Mechanicsburg  in Pennsylvania, and serves the Surface Operations, Submarines and Carrier directorates by procuring depot level repairables.


Mechanicsburg Mission

The mission of the directorate is to provide full life-cycle contracting expertise and execution for the acquisition of any depot level reparable items assigned for procurement action to DLA Maritime Mechanicsburg. This includes providing business advice and assistance to customers in developing appropriate acquisition strategies, and performing oversight of the full range of planning, execution and administration of contractual actions to help ensure timely delivery of the required supplies.

DLA Maritime Mechanicsburg collaborates with other DLA and Component Contracting Activities to leverage DOD’s buying position, presenting a unified, single face to industry and implement improved business processes, with the overall goal being improved support and readiness within the warfighters’ supply chains.

DLA Maritime Norfolk

DLA Maritime Norfolk consists of two main locations - Norfolk Naval Base and Norfolk Naval Shipyard - in Norfolk, Virginia  along with several detachments and a forward operating presence in Bahrain. 


Norfolk Mission

DLA Maritime Norfolk located at Norfolk Naval Shipyard provides logistics support for assigned ships, submarines and service craft and performs authorized work in connection with conversion, overhaul, repair, alteration, dry docking and outfitting of ships and craft, as assigned.

DLA Maritime Norfolk provides quality logistics and material support services with focus on the unique requirements of our primary customer, Norfolk Naval Shipyard, whose mission is “service to the fleet, any ship, any time, any where.”

Pearl Harbor Mission

DLA Maritime Pearl Harbor located at Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard provides supply support services for the repair, maintenance and modernization of fleet units. DLA Maritime Pearl Harbor also provides non-nuclear supply support. DLA Maritime at TRF Bangor Mission

The DLA Maritime site at Trident Refit Facility Bangor is located at the Trident Refit Facility in Bangor, Washington and serves as primary support for the 'sea leg' of the nation's nuclear triad, servicing Ohio-class ballistic missile submarines during their planned and programmed maintenance availabilities. 

TRF Bangor Mission:  To support our nation's strategic deterrent by repairing, incrementally overhauling, and modernizing Pacific Fleet SSBNs during refits.
