DLA Maritime at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility serves as the primary advocate for Puget Sound Naval Shipyard & Intermediate Maintenance Facility (PSNS & IMF) supply support locally and at off-site locations. DLA Maritime at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard & IMF also serves as the reimbursable customers’ primary point of contact for all facets of the supply chain ensuring that customer priorities are met.

DLA Maritime at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard & IMF communicates regularly with customer, higher headquarters and within department to relay customer priorities, initiate new customer support programs and resolve performance deficiencies.

Small Businesses receive answers to questions during event
Supervisory Purchasing Agent Jessica Reichard and Contract Specialist and Bangor Team Lead Andrea Hart spoke to small businesses about Defense Logistics Agency Maritime - Puget Sound focusing on how suppliers can do business with DLA during a July 17 “Meet the Buyers” event in Bremerton, Washington.
July 19, 2019 - DLA Land and Maritime detachment at Puget Sound participated in the “Meet the Buyers” small business outreach event in Bremerton, Washington, July 17. “Every time we attend an event like this, one of the key takeaways is an increased vendor pool across every socioeconomic category,” Hart said. “New vendors are able to learn about the many resources available to them, and how to successfully supply correct information when quoting DLA requirements. This provides immeasurable intrinsic value in ensuring DLA Maritime – Puget Sound is able to maximize contract award dollars to small business concerns.”

Puget Sound focuses on reducing customer wait times, improves processes

May 19, 2019 - Customers have been the focus for the past three years at the Defense Logistics Agency Land and Maritime’s Puget Sound detachment. The DLA Maritime - Puget Shop Stores item managers have worked diligently to improve customer support by driving down the not-in-stock or empty bin rate, reducing the risk of costly work stoppages at the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility.

May 19, 2019 - DLA Maritime – Puget Sound is better equipped to assist its shipyard customers with their material needs after developing a new team. The first of its kind technical review team was established in October 2018 by DLA Maritime – Puget Sound Code PMBB. The group performs technical reviews of all incoming Job Material Lists to ensure completeness and accuracy before being passed to the credit card or purchasing departments. The ultimate goal is to have buy-ready procurement packages upon receipt by DLA.

Defense Logistics Agency Maritime - Puget Sound Contract Specialist Andrea Hart and Purchasing Agent Jessica Reichard spoke with small businesses about the shipyard, what it procures and how suppliers can do business with DLA during the Alliance Northwest Small Business Conference in Puyallup, Washington, March 7. This event marked the 30th year of working with Washington State Procurement Technical Assistance Center.  Washington PTACS focus is to assist small businesses with marketing to the government, solicitations, drawings and other areas related to selling to the government.
