Stoeger recognized for achievements as commander of Red River distribution center

TEXARKANA, Texas — Army Lt. Col. Anthony Stoeger has been awarded the Defense Meritorious Service Medal for his achievements while serving as commander, Defense Logistics Agency Distribution Red River, Texas.

AL UDEID AIR BASE, Qatar — Logistics In Action: Article originally appeared on the U.S. Army Central website — While the parachute riggers of the Army Reserve’s 824th Quartermaster Company may not include packing parachutes for Soldiers to jump out of perfectly good airplanes, the supplies and equipment they prepare for aerial delivery are no less vital to the survival of Soldiers.

Defense Logistics Agency Aviation’s Col. Mark Hirschinger, chief, Army Customer Facing Division, Customer Operations Directorate, cuts the Army birthday cake June 13, 2017 with Sgt. Tom Katsiyiannis, 392nd Army Band, Fort Lee, Virginia, at Defense Supply Center Richmond, Virginia. The cake ceremony is a long standing Army tradition where the soldier with longest time in service cuts the cake with the soldier with the least amount of time in service using the ceremonial military saber.

DLA celebrates the Army’s 242nd birthday!

Richmond, Virginia — Soldiers and Defense Logistics Agency Aviation employees celebrated the Army’s 242nd birthday with a ceremony at Defense Supply Center Richmond, Virginia.

Defense Logistics Agency Aviation-San Diego employees Navy Lieutenant Junior Grade Angeli Legardye, right, Contract Specialist Nicole Johnson, left, and Management Analyst Karen Higdon, middle, sort through clothing donated by employees for local non-profit organizations to distribute to families in need. The program collects clothing for newborn to 1 year-old children of families who have been identified by local nurses and social service agencies.

San Diego’s culture committee teams up with local NPOs

San Diego — The Culture Committee at Defense Logistics Agency Aviation-San Diego collaborated with a local non-profit organization and held a clothing drive in May to provide baby items for newborn to 1-year-olds throughout San Diego County.

Ohio National Guard to Deploy

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Task force from Ohio National Guard's 174th Air Defense Artillery Bridgate to deploy.

Army Chief Warrant Officer 3 Jemme Neal and Sgt. 1st Class Isaac Wilson, both from DLA Troop Support’s Subsistence supply chain, cut a cake June 13 to mark the Army’s 242nd birthday. Subsistence helped deliver 300,000 servings of birthday cake to dining facilities around the world.

Troop Support celebrates Army’s 242nd birthday

PHILADELPHIA — DLA Troop Support celebrated the Army's birthday with cake before the weekly senior leader staff meeting. And the Subsistence supply chain helped soldiers around the world enjoy their cake too.

U.S. and Iraqi Air Forces work together to recover, put pallets back into DOD system

BAGHDAD, Iraq — Logistics In Action: Article originally appeared on the U.S. Air Forces Central Command website — Air transportation specialists assigned to the 370th Air Expeditionary Air Advisory Group here started an initiative recently to recover more than $2.1 million in U.S. Air Force aerial port assets from Iraqi air force counterparts.
