DLA Director hosts town hall for Distribution headquarters, recognizes employees

NEW CUMBERLAND, Pennsylvania — DLA Director Air Force Lt. Gen. Andy Busch hosted the inaugural town hall in the new Distribution headquarters building on Nov. 18.

99th MDSS Pharmacy streamlines inpatient medication processes

NELLIS AIR FORCE BASE, Nev. — — Logistics In Action: Article originally appeared on the Nellis Air Force Base website — The pharmacy at the Mike O’Callaghan Federal Medical Center recently innovated their inpatient medication process by implementing barcode technology to multiple medication dispensing machines throughout the medical center and streamlining and safeguarding the way nurses receive and dispense medications for patients here.

DLA Distribution leaders present forward-thinking Annual Operating Plan to DLA Director

NEW CUMBERLAND, Pennsylvania — On Nov. 18, Air Force Lt. Gen. Andy Busch met with DLA Distribution leadership at the newly constructed headquarters building in New Cumberland, Pa., for a report on the fiscal year 2016 annual operating plan and presentation of the fiscal year 2017 AOP.

Small Tribes of Western Washington, based in Lakewood, is one of 125 Native American organizations with members whose fruits and vegetables are delivered by regional produce companies working on DLA Troop Support contracts as part of the USDA Food Distribution Program on Indian Reservations.

Welcome Center launches new Visitor Management System

Richmond, Virginia — The Welcome Center at Defense Supply Center Richmond, Virginia, installed a new system to track customer needs and wait times Nov 3. The VMS is designed similar to a Department of Motor Vehicles queuing system.

DLA, DHA, services collaborate to improve military healthcare through standardization

PHILADELPHIA — Medical standardization across DOD improves clinical outcomes, enhances readiness and training, controls costs and improves DOD-wide interoperability, a DHA official said as more than 100 military medical professionals gathered in Philadelphia recently for a standardization workshop.

San Joaquin graduates its leaders in High Performance Leadership

TRACY, California — DLA Distribution San Joaquin, Calif., held a graduation ceremony for 106 graduates for the Foundations of High Performing Leadership training. All managers, supervisors and American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE) Local 1546 leaders attended the two-week session.
