Bagwell becomes newest DLA Distribution Joint Team Lead

NEW CUMBERLAND, Pennsylvania — United States Navy Capt. Pele Bagwell assumed the position of DLA Distribution Joint Team Lead in a Jan. 7 ceremony officiated by DLA Joint Reserve Force director Navy Rear Adm. Deborah Haven.

DLA director praises Troop Support performance during annual review

PHILADELPHIA — “You have been capable in driving significant change in your business practice,” DLA Director Air Force Lt. Gen. Andy Busch told Troop Support leaders Jan. 5. “But the changes that are required of us going forward are equally as significant.”

Bituminous coal is removed from a shuttered power plant at U.S. Navy Surface Warfare Center Indian Head in Maryland. The DLA Disposition Services assistance in finding a new home for the coal saved an estimated $6 million in removal costs.

Commentary: DLA Regional Commanders shift to touch points for geographic combatant command

In September, I presided over DLA Pacific’s change of command, in which Navy Capt. Tim Daniels took the reins of that outstanding organization from Army Col. Richard Ellis. The ceremony marked more than one change for that team. As Capt. Daniels accepted the unit colors, he initiated a shift in the way DLA Pacific and our other regional commands work with our partners around the world.
