Subsistence supports USS Indianapolis ahead of commissioning ceremony

PHILADELPHIA — When the USS Indianapolis commissioned Oct. 26 in Indiana, it was a first for the United States Navy and posed a unique challenge for the Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support Subsistence supply chain.

Subsistence, USDA partnership sets new high for schools receiving fresh produce

PHILADELPHIA — When the Department of Defense Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program started in 1995, school districts in only eight states signed on with the partnership effort. By the end of fiscal 2019, the DOD Fresh program has grown to include districts nationwide, reaching record numbers of participants at the start of this school year.

DLA Construction and Equipment is always prepared to help fight against wildfires

This year, the annual wildfire season has been less active, with about 28 percent fewer acres of land burning during the season than the 10-year average, according to the National Interagency Fire Center. Despite this decrease in fire activity, the Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support Construction and Equipment supply chain remains ready in case disaster strikes.

Subsistence supply chain director promoted to colonel

PHILADELPHIA — Eric McCoy is one of the Army’s newest colonels. McCoy, the Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support Subsistence supply chain director, was promoted in front of family and friends in Philadelphia Oct. 3.

DLA Troop Support provides 96,000 meals and 1,400 cases of bottled water to Hurricane Dorian relief efforts

PHILADELPHIA — As the threat of Hurricane Dorian became imminent, the Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support Subsistence supply chain ensured meals-ready-to-eat, bottled water and fresh fruits and vegetables were available to those directly impacted by the storm, starting August 29.

DLA Subsistence project helps customers, improves internal processes

PHILADELPHIA — The Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support Subsistence supply chain’s recall notifications under the All Food and Drug Act are critical to ensuring the warfighter and their family members do not buy or consume recalled subsistence products in any government owned facility. But what about the customers that need to be credited for products that were recalled?

The 16 Air Force majors who toured DLA Troop Support in Philadelphia on August 26, 2019, are part of a professional development program for mobility officers at the U.S. Air Force Expeditionary Operations School. One of the areas of study in the program is supply chain management.

DLA Troop Support gives first-hand lesson on supply chains to Air Force Air Mobility students

PHILADELPHIA — Students and academic leaders from the U.S. Air Force Expeditionary Operations School visited the Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support in Philadelphia Aug. 26 for an overview of the agency’s services and to learn about its mission. The students, who are part of the school’s Advanced Study of Air Mobility program, met with representatives from each of the agency’s five supply chains.

PHILADELPHIA — The Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support Subsistence supply chain, in partnership with DLA Distribution Norfolk, Virginia, provides support to the Air Force's annual re-supply mission, Pacer Goose Sustainment 2019, at Thule Air Base, Greenland.

Philadelphia — A Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support Subsistence team, in partnership with the New Jersey Institute of Technology, New Jersey Innovation Institutes Unmanned Aviation Systems Test Site and a contracted vendor, successfully conducted two unmanned aircraft systems research flights, July 24-25 at the Cape May-Lewes Ferry Terminal in Cape May, New Jersey.
