Police Week Spotlight: Officer Randall Guratosky

RICHMOND, Va. — As part of National Police Week observances, Defense Logistics Agency Aviation and DLA Installation Support at Richmond will spotlight police officers at Defense Supply Center, Richmond, Virginia, who selflessly secure and protect the base, its people and its neighbors.

DSCC MWR will use the Strong B.A.N.D.S. campaign to promote fitness, wellness and resiliency during National Physical Fitness and Sports Month in May. DSCC MWR is offering five events to DSCC Associates, Military and families focused on Balance, Activity, Nutrition, Determination and Strength (B.A.N.D.S.) -- all key components of overall well-being and resiliency.

Fitness promoted through May’s Strong B.A.N.D.S. events

YOKOSUKA, Japan — Navy Hospital Corpsman 2nd Class Rodolfo Carretero, medical specialist at Defense Logistics Agency Distribution Yokosuka, Japan, has been awarded the DLA Distribution Non-Commissioned Officer of the Quarter award for second quarter, fiscal year 2016.

Navy Cmdr. Eugene Cash, former planning officer in DLA Distribution headquarters office of strategic plans, has been selected for the rank of captain.

Former Distribution planning officer selected for promotion to Captain

NEW CUMBERLAND, Pennsylvania — Navy Cmdr. Eugene Cash, former planning officer in DLA Distribution headquarters office of strategic plans, has been selected for the rank of captain.

Glenn Cooper, chief of maintenance with DLA Installation Support at Richmond, Virginia, helps guide the F-100 Engine static display off the delivery truck May 4, 2016 while Randy Shortridge, chief of Industrial Equipment Services Section in installation support, oversees activity from the ground. The engine will be on display in the Frank B. Lotts Conference Center on Defense Supply Center Richmond.

RICHMOND, Virginia — Defense Logistics Agency Installation Support at Richmond, Virginia, personnel maneuvered the installation’s newest static display, an F-100 Engine, off the truck and into the Frank B. Lotts Conference Center on Defense Supply Center Richmond, May 4.

Navy Cmdr. Julie Hunter, former commander of Defense Logistics Agency Distribution Bahrain, has been selected for the rank of captain.

Pribble, DLA general counsel, retires after 35 years at DoD

FORT BELVOIR, Virginia — Defense Logistics Agency General Counsel Fred T. Pribble retired May 3 after a 35-year career at the Department of Defense, in a ceremony at the McNamara Headquarters Complex.

Susquehanna’s Gonzalez named Employee of the Week

NEW CUMBERLAND, Pennsylvania — Quetcy Gonzalez, transportation damage and loss claims examiner at DLA Distribution Susquehanna, Pa., has been named Employee of the Week for the week of May 2 to 6, 2016.

Navy Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technician 3rd Class Erik Kastner, assigned to EOD Mobile Unit 6, helps a student from the Civic Leadership Institute of Hampton Roads don an EOD Mark 9 bomb suit during a tour April 21 at Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek, Virginia. DLA Troop Support provides equipment to EOD customers through its Construction and Equipment supply chain.

Troop Support supports EOD mission as national observance nears

PHILADELPHIA — National Explosive Ordnance Disposal Day is observed annually on the first Saturday of May to honor the professionals that put their lives on the line to defuse, disarm or contain bombs and other explosive devices. DLA Troop Support provides much of the equipment that military EOD units demand.

DLA Distribution reflects on today as Holocaust Remembrance Day (Yom Hashoah). The United States Congress established the Days of Remembrance as our nation's annual commemoration of the victims of the Holocaust and created the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum as a permanent, living memorial to those victims.

NEW CUMBERLAND, Pennsylvania — DLA Distribution reflects on today as Holocaust Remembrance Day (Yom Hashoah). The United States Congress established the Days of Remembrance as our nation's annual commemoration of the victims of the Holocaust and created the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum as a permanent, living memorial to those victims.
