DLMS Data Resources

DEDSO hosts a digital library that brings together all the key publications, documents, and processes it oversees. We hope to make it easy to access and stay aligned with Defense data standards. These are described below:

Pipeline/LMARS
DEDSO no longer chairs the Pipeline Measurement Committee but the Pipeline and LMARS data is available for reference.

DoD/ASC X12 Conversion Guides

Three sets of conversion guides contain cross references between DoD domain codes (data item codes) and Accredited Standards Committee (ASC) X12 domain code values. DoD systems that store internal data in DoD format and exchange data via X12 EDI/XML based transactions must implement the conversion guides for Transportation Method/Type Codes and Unit of Materiel Measure (Unit of Issue/Purchase Unit) to convert outbound DoD data values to the corresponding ASC X12 code values and vice versa for inbound data values.

Logistics Metrics Analysis Reporting System (LMARS)

LMARS uses information from DLMS and DTEB transactions processed by DAAS to measure the logistic response time (LRT) of the logistics pipeline for wholesale-managed items. The data recorded in the Logistics On-line Tracking System (LOTS) repository regarding wholesale-managed items is used to produce transaction counts and average pipeline processing times, in days, for the 12-segment life cycle of a logistics transaction. The measurement begins with the serial (birth) date of the requisition and ends with receipt by DAAS of the materiel receipt acknowledgement (MRA) transaction. Reports are produced monthly and are available on the LMARS system web site managed by DAAS.

Information about the logistics pipeline can be found in DLM 4000.25, Volume 6, Chapter 4.
