About DLA Weapons Support (Columbus)

Defense Logistics Agency Weapons Support (Columbus), headquartered in Columbus, Ohio, is the Land and Maritime supply chain for the Defense Logistics Agency. As such it is one of the largest suppliers of spare parts that support land-based and maritime weapon systems.

DLA Weapons Support (Columbus) has more than 2,800 associates in 30 locations worldwide to include, three DLA Depot Level Reparable detachments, Army and Marine Corps industrial sites and four detachments supporting U.S. Naval shipyards. DLA Weapons Support (Columbus) also has associates forward-located with Army, Navy and Marine Corps customers throughout the United States and overseas; extending its footprint to ensure end-to-end supply chain management.

Managing almost 2.6 million spare and repair parts, DLA Weapons Support (Columbus) supports more than 2,000 weapon systems and more than 20,800 customers throughout the military services, civil agencies, and other Department of Defense organizations. In Fiscal Year 2024, DLA Weapons Support (Columbus) sales exceeded $4.8 billion.

DLA Weapons Support (Columbus) was the first Inventory Control Point in DLA to develop a weapon systems approach toward materiel management. Weapon systems management is now standard procedure in DLA, and DLA Weapons Support (Columbus) is the Lead ICP for Land, Maritime and Missile weapons systems. DLA Weapons Support (Columbus)' mission is to provide worldwide logistical support to its customers. DLA Weapons Support (Columbus) directly supports Navy Surface and Subsurface and Army and Marine Corps customers through dedicated customer relations while working with numerous suppliers to fulfill requirements for assigned stock classes across the Defense Department. DLA Weapons Support (Columbus) also provides logistical services directly to Navy shipyards and Army/USMC industrial sites.

Taking on the role of end-to-end supply chain management, rather than wholesale manager, DLA Weapons Support (Columbus) continues to grow in its pursuit of better, faster, lower-cost logistics combat support to the warfighters of all services. In managing the entire supply chain, DLA Weapons Support (Columbus) partners with customers and suppliers to improve overall warfighter support.

DLA Weapons Support (Columbus) is located on Defense Supply Center Columbus (DSCC), a 500-acre installation that shares the boundaries of two central Ohio cities: Columbus and Whitehall . DSCC is a unique installation that capitalizes on the synergy of state, federal and defense organizations such as the Ohio National Guard and U.S. Army Reserve , the Chalmers P. Wylie Veterans Outpatient Clinic , the Defense Finance and Accounting Service and Defense Information Services Agency , which are collocated on or adjacent to the site.
