April is Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Month
In recognition of Sexual Assault Awareness & Prevention Month, the Defense Logistics Agency SAPR program invites all DLA employees, worldwide, to participate in a virtual “Going the Distance to Support SAPR” challenge. The goal is to continue to spread the word across the DLA enterprise about the SAPR program and resources and show support for survivors.
March 21, 2019 - DLA Land and Maritime has planned a few events to include Information Fair, Teal Tea Awareness, Walk a Lap for a Survivor and a 5K run/walk.

Women’s History Month Spotlight: Kari Riskedahl
Kari Riskedahl is the DLA Logistics Information’s business relationship manager to DLA Land & Maritime and chief of the Information Technology Operations Center Division.
March 19, 2019 - The Defense Logistics Agency recognizes March as Women’s History Month. In honor of women’s contributions to the agency’s global mission, DLA is highlighting female employees who work day in and day out to provide logistics support to America’s warfighters.

Skills to last a lifetime, theme of mentoring graduation ceremony
DLA Land and Maritime mentees and mentors graduate the Level II Mentoring Program Mar. 13 at Defense Supply Center Columbus Operations Center Auditorium. The 58 mentees were the first class to have been selected on a competitive bases. The nine month program promotes and improves professional relationships and skillsets.
March 15, 2019 - ceremony that culminated nine months of dedication and work in the Level II Mentoring Program March 13 at the Defense Supply Center Columbus Operations Center Auditorium. Level II is a voluntary, formal mentoring program for associates at the general salary grades 9 through 12.

Puget Sound assists small businesses in discovering opportunities to work with DLA
Defense Logistics Agency Maritime - Puget Sound Contract Specialist Andrea Hart and Purchasing Agent Jessica Reichard spoke with small businesses about the shipyard, what it procures and how suppliers can do business with DLA during the Alliance Northwest Small Business Conference in Puyallup, Washington, March 7. This event marked the 30th year of working with Washington State Procurement Technical Assistance Center.  Washington PTACS focus is to assist small businesses with marketing to the government, solicitations, drawings and other areas related to selling to the government.
March 15, 2019 - Puget Sound Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility plays an important part in the Defense Logistics Agency Maritime family by serving as the primary advocate for PSNS and IMF supply support in Washington. As part of their outreach efforts, DLA Maritime - Puget Sound was one of 119 vendor booths at the Alliance Northwest Small Business Conference in Puyallup, Washington, March 7.

March 11, 2019 - The 2019 Carter G. Woodson awardees were announced during the Defense Supply Center Columbus’ African American and Black History Month celebration Feb. 27.
