DLA Aviation leaders discuss how to deliver high-impact, customer-focused outcomes at AOP review

Defense Logistics Agency Director Air Force Lt. Gen. Andy Busch met with DLA Aviation leadership during his fiscal 2016 Annual Operating Plan review held Feb. 5 in Richmond, Virginia. The intent of the half-day work session was to provide a bi-annual assessment of DLA Aviation's progress towards achieving its AOP goals and objectives and a look at the way ahead.

Vietnam Veteran recognized as beacon of support to New Cumberland installation

NEW CUMBERLAND, Pennsylvania — Some may say that the recent civilian retirement of Joseph Spielbauer, executive director, Pennsylvania Military Community Enhancement Commission is bittersweet. For Spielbauer, it means more personal time; for those who worked with him and relied on his support and expertise, it means a huge void. At the New Cumberland installation, Jan. 28, one day prior to Spielbauer’s retirement, senior leaders honored the Vietnam Veteran for his support to his country, both in uniform and out.

Bahrain distribution center participates in Army Watercraft testing mission

MANAMA, Bahrain — Due to an increase in responsibilities, DLA Distribution Bahrain was looking to tap into agency resources within the region, coordinating with DLA Disposition Kuwait to determine if demilitarization capabilities existed within its local mission. At the same time and as part of the process to establish the Trans Arabian Network, DLA Support Team - Kuwait was looking for opportunities to test the Army Watercraft mission.

Combined Arms Leadership Development Exercise at DLA Distribution

NEW CUMBERLAND, Pennsylvania — University students from Penn State, Lock Haven, and Bucknell Reserve Officers Training Corps programs, visited Defense Logistics Agency Distribution Jan. 29 to discuss how the organization delivers effective logistics solutions to customers around the globe. The visit was part of the ROTC Combined Arms Leadership Development Exercise aimed to enhance cadets ‘professional experience and leadership skills

DLA Aviation holds Resiliency Training: expands employees' skills in dealing with life pressures

RICHMOND, Virginia — A long-established initiative by the military services, resiliency training was offered for the first time at Defense Logistics Agency to Aviation employees at Defense Supply Center Richmond, Virginia, Dec. 16. This event introduced the resiliency concept and the resiliency tools available, including mental, physical, social, and spiritual training.

Cherry Point’s Corrales recognized at annual DLA award ceremony

FT. BELVOIR, Virginia — Navy Lt. Jill Corrales, retail manager at Defense Logistics Agency Distribution Cherry Point, N.C., was awarded the DLA Company Grade Officer of the Year award at the 48th annual employee recognition ceremony Dec. 10, for working closely with the Fleet Readiness Center-East, 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing and other units onboard Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point to support the warfighter and ensure combat readiness.
