DLA Distribution headquarters hosts KPMG

As the external audit nears, DLA Distribution continues to prepare the agency for success. Recently, the organization welcomed three executive members from KPMG’s Management Consulting Advisory practice. Ken Drover, lead partner, Global Defense Center of Excellence, Patty St. George, partner, Federal Advisory and Jeff Langley, director, Supply Chain and Logistics, visited DLA Distribution for a discussion with leadership on operational and financial supply chain transformation. KPMG is the advisory firm currently assisting DLA Distribution prepare for the independent audit.

Defense Logistics Agency director Air Force Lt. Gen. Andy Busch visited DLA Distribution San Joaquin, Calif., Sept. 11 to discuss command operations and tour facilities at DLA’s western Strategic Distribution Platform as well as host a town hall discussing the DLA Strategic Plan.

Red River’s safety specialist supports MRAP DEMIL in Afghanistan

Kent Martz, a safety specialist at Defense Logistics Agency Distribution Red River, Texas, has spent the last six months in Afghanistan supporting the MRAP Demilitarization mission. Arriving in March 2015, he is expected to return home to Red River at the end of September 2015.

Defense Logistics Agency supports Ulchi Freedom Guardian 2015

Led by Defense Logistics Agency Pacific Korea, DLA Distribution and other DLA organizations in the pacific theater provided simulated sustainment and logistics services to United States and Republic of Korea forces within the Korean Theater of Operations in support of Ulchi Freedom Guardian from Aug. 17 to 29, 2015. UFG is a computer-based command post exercise that triggers ROK-US Forces to respond to destabilizing events and work through challenges in mission command in defense of the ROK.

Since May of 2014 the U. S. Army has called upon the Defense Logistics Agency Distribution Expeditionary team to support the Army’s Brigade Combat Team drawdown and reorganization/inactivation and Forces Command Unit Equipment Reuse Work Group Expanded initiative.
