Army Col. Julia Bell

Military Deputy Commander, DLA Indo-Pacific

Army Col. Julia Bell graduated from Salina South High School in 1991.  She attended the United States Military Army Preparatory School – 1992; followed by attending the United States Military Academy at West Point.  She graduated and was commissioned in the U.S. Army Transportation Corps in June 1996.

MILITARY AND CIVILIAN EDUCATION:  Bell is a 2019 U.S. Army War College graduate earning a Master’s Degree in Strategic Studies. She earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in General Law from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, NY, and a Master of Science in Logistics Management from Florida Institute of Technology at Melbourne, FL.  She also graduated from the Transportation Officer Basic Course, Fort Eustis, VA; Combined Logistics Officers Advance Course, Fort Lee, VA; Combined Arms Service Staff School, Fort Leavenworth, KS; Intermediate Level Education, Fort Leavenworth, KS; and the Joint and Combined Warfighting School, Norfolk, VA.

ASSIGNMENT HIGHLIGHTS:  After commissioning  Bell’s first assignment was as the Operations Officer for the 30th Movement Control Team, 27th Trans Bn, Bamberg, Germany in February 1997.  She then served as a Platoon Leader/Executive Officer in the 51st Trans Co (PLS), 181st Trans Bn, Mannheim, Germany in February 1998 before becoming the Operations Officer for the 27th Trans Bn (MC), Wiesbaden, Germany in February 1999.  In November 2000, Bell served as the Supply and Services Officer, 2nd ID Division Support Command at Camp Casey, Korea.  In January 2002, Bell was assigned to the 45th Corps Support Group at Schofield Barracks, HI, where she served as the Group Training Officer.  She was then selected to command the 25th ID Transportation Company – Delta Company, 725th Main Support Battalion.  Following command Bell was selected to become the Detachment Commander/Plans Officer for the 599th Transportation Group at Wheeler Army Airfield, HI; she deployed in support of OIF/OEF and supported the Thailand Tsunami Humanitarian Relief efforts.  In September 2005, Bell served as a Senior Observer/Controller/Trainer with the 2/347th CS/CSS RGT (AC/RC) in Fort Gordon, GA.  Following her AC/RC assignment she was assigned as the Battalion Operations Officer for the 325th BSB, 3 BCT, 25th ID at Schofield Barracks, HI; where she deployed in support of OIF.  Upon redeployment, she served as the 3 BCT S-4.  She was then assigned to the ARSOF Liaison Element for the Pacific (ALE-PAC), 528th Sustainment Brigade (SO) (A) where she served as the Logistics Planner.  Bell was then selected to serve as a Fellow with FEDEX Express through the Training with Industry Program in June 2011.  Following her year with FEDEX Express, Bell was assigned to the United States Transportation Command where she served as a Legislative Affairs Officer. Following her assignment with USTRANSCOM, Bell was selected and served as the Battalion Commander for the Army Field Support Battalion – Drum at Fort Drum, NY.
