Hurry named new DLA Aviation commander

Fort Belvoir, Virginia — The Air Force General Officer Management Office announced March 9 that Air Force Brig. Gen. Linda S. Hurry will replace Air Force Brig. Gen. Allan E. Day as commander of Defense Logistics Agency Aviation at Richmond, Virginia.

Agency leaders show support for SAPR program

Fort Belvoir, Virginia — On March 8, designated as International Women’s Day, Defense Logistics Agency leaders took a break from Executive Board business to address an important issue to both women and men – sexual assault prevention and response.

Daylight Saving Time begins March 12 at 2 a.m. DLA Installation Support at Richmond’s Fire and Emergency Services reminds employees to “spring forward” and set clocks forward by one hour. Richmond, Va. — Defense Logistics Agency Installation Support at Richmond, Virginia’s Fire and Emergency Services welcomes its first program of the year for 2017, “Change Your Clock – Change Your Battery”, as Daylight Saving Time begins this Sunday, March 12.

San Joaquin’s Pine retires after 35 years of dedicated service

TRACY, California — Cheryl Pine, formerly O’Brien, is saying goodbye to the DLA family upon her retirement from federal service after 35 years of dedicated service to the nation, DLA Distribution San Joaquin, California and the warfighter. She is leaving her systems team where she has served as the Systems Division chief for the Inventory and Support Services Group since 2014.

AF, Army collaboration enhances supply operations

JOINT BASE LANGLEY-EUSTIS, Va. — Logistics In Action: Article originally appeared on the Joint Base Langley-Eustis website — The 733rd Logistics Readiness Squadron worked with supply specialists assigned to the 7th Transportation Brigade (Expeditionary) during a week-long training Feb. 27 through March 3 to showcase the Air Force’s supply management processes.

The Columbus Region Defense Group met at Defense Supply Center Columbus Mar. 3 to discuss economic development initiatives, improvements to public-private partnerships and workforce challenges and opportunities. The group included representatives from local and state political offices, civic leaders and military stakeholders.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Members of the Central Ohio Defense Working Group held their quarterly meeting at Defense Supply Center Columbus for a firsthand look at the installation’s contributions to global defense and its local economic impact.

Fort Belvoir, Virginia — The Office of the Senior Enlisted Advisor to the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff announced March 6 that Command Master Chief Shaun Brahmsteadt will succeed Command Sgt. Maj. Charles Tobin as the Defense Logistics Agency’s command senior enlisted leader.

“Keys to Success” shared at Air Force officer promotion ceremony

Richmond, Virginia — Air Force Lt. Col. Michael Allison, Chief Air Force Customer Facing Division, Customer Operations Directorate, Defense Logistics Agency Aviation, celebrated his promotion to colonel as Brig. Gen. John Kubinec, Warner Robins Air Logistics Complex Commander, Robins Air Force Base, Georgia, shared the secrets to becoming a colonel at a ceremony Feb. 28 held on Defense Supply Center, Richmond, Virginia Air Force.

PHILADELPHIA — DLA Troop Support is now offering customized medical kits to better meet the needs of its customers. Customers can now rely on DLA for medical kits containing a wide selection of items, such as pharmaceuticals, instruments, bandages, splints and needles, in the quantities they require.
