About DLA Weapons Support

Large building complex which has three sections and is tan with dark windows and rises seven stories. Photo taken in Fall of 2022 which shows the view from the front of the building from the large parking lot. Trees are starting to change colors amidst the cars parked in the lot.

DLA Weapons Support is the aviation, land and maritime demand and supply chain manager for Defense Logistics Agency with more than 6,300 civilian and military personnel at 54 locations worldwide. Established Oct. 1, 2025, the MSC replaced the former DLA Aviation and DLA Land and Maritime MSCs with a single unified organization and leverages expertise in both Richmond, Virginia, and Columbus, Ohio.

Headquartered at Defense Supply Center Columbus, DLA Weapons Support manages more than 4,300 major weapon systems and is the U.S. military integrated material manager for more than 2.4 million national stock number items, industrial retail supply and deport-level reparable acquisitions with annual sales exceeding $9.385 billion in FY25.

Defense Supply Center Columbus was the first Inventory Control Point in DLA to develop a weapon systems approach toward materiel management. Weapon systems management is now standard procedure in DLA.

Taking on the role of end-to-end supply chain management, rather than wholesale manager, DLA Weapons Support continues to grow in its pursuit of better, faster, lower-cost logistics combat support to the warfighters of all services. In managing the entire supply chain, DLA Weapons Support partners with customers and suppliers to improve overall warfighter support.

Defense Supply Center Columbus (DSCC), is a 500-acre installation that shares the boundaries of two central Ohio cities: Columbus and Whitehall . DSCC is a unique installation that capitalizes on the synergy of state, federal and defense organizations such as the Ohio National Guard and U.S. Army Reserve , the Chalmers P. Wylie Veterans Outpatient Clinic , the Defense Finance and Accounting Service and Defense Information Services Agency , which are collocated on or adjacent to the site.
