Land and Maritime Public Affairs
Mission
Provide effective and efficient worldwide support to warfighters, suppliers and customers. To best support the DLA mission, DLA Land and Maritime Public Affairs provides guidance to the commander, senior leadership, directorates, staffs and detachments, as well as all tenants of Defense Supply Center Columbus. The office develops and administers proactive command information, media relations and public outreach policies and programs that communicate DLA’s critical role as a combat support agency, value added to the Defense Department, Combatant Commands, the military services and warfighters, and the American people using internal and external communication vehicles and channels.

Media Relations
The media relations team develops well thought out and responsive media operations. The team adjusts quickly to both the scale of news media coverage and the organization's ability to communicate effectively and within the parameters provided.
Goals and initiatives of the media relations team are to:
- Increase positive media coverage of DLA Land and Maritime, its mission, people, capabilities and services.
- Increase dissemination of DLA Land and Maritime's compelling story as America's logistics combat support agency. Targeted, strategic engagement of the media provides DLA Land and Maritime the opportunity to educate the American public about how the agency uses taxpayer resources as well as informing warfighters about DLA Land and Maritime support.
News and Web Operations
The news and web operations team provides DLA Land and Maritime related news and information to internal and external – non media- audiences. To build and maintain credibility, the team ensures all products are timely, accurate and consistent across audiences. In addition to operating DLA Land and Maritime's digital presence, the team contributes to several DLA agency initiatives.
