In a historical event, a U.S. Navy aircraft refueled for the first time at India’s strategic base in Andaman and Nicobar Islands late September under a fuel agreement between DLA Energy and the Indian Ministry of Defense.
To meet the increasing need for sustainable and efficient fuel resources, DLA Energy is teaming with the University of Maine to transform forest residues, sawmill residues, municipal solid waste, and construction wood wastes into a hydrocarbon fuel oil.
DLA Energy is helping small businesses succeed awarding $1.2 billion in contracts in fiscal 2020. For eight consecutive years, it has exceeded its small business goals awarding on average 28% of contracts to small firms.
The 2020 Denison Culture Climate survey will run Oct. 9 to Nov. 13. The survey, which measures employee perceptions of agency culture, is used to improve culture to improve performance.

DLA Energy maximizes small business opportunities
Congress authorized the PTAP in 1985 to help expand the number of businesses participating in government contracts. DLA administers the program in cooperation with states and local governments, nonprofit organizations, and colleges and universities. PTACs provided 169,000 hours of one-on-one counseling and assisted 54,000 businesses in fiscal 2019.
