DLA Energy Americas

Overview

DLA Energy Americas provides comprehensive energy support and solutions to the various departments and agencies of the U.S. government, as well as international partners. DLA Energy Americas is one of several DLA Energy regional offices responsible for the receipt, storage, and distribution of various energy products to DLA Energy customers.

Strategic energy and fuel management support includes distribution, inventory accountability and quality assurance functions of bulk fuel (aviation), bunkers (marine), direct delivery fuels (ground and installation), into-plane (aviation), missile/cryogenic, lube oil and coal. Bulk fuel storage and distribution support includes contract administration and inventory management. DLA Energy Americas supports six combatant commands: U.S. Northern Command, U.S. Southern Command, U.S. Strategic Command, U.S. Transportation Command, U.S. Special Operations Command, and U.S. Indo-Pacific Command. DLA Energy Americas also partners with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and contingency contractors for bulk petroleum support for natural or man-made disasters occurring in the U.S in support of Defense Support of Civil Authorities (DSCA).

The region’s area of responsibility consists of North, Central and South Americas, plus the Caribbean Island states and territories; a total of 16,632,233 square miles encompassing the 49 contiguous United States and 39 additional countries/territories. DLA Energy Americas is divided into three offices: DLA Energy Americas East, DLA Energy Americas West, and DLA Energy Americas North. In order to accomplish the DLA Energy Americas mission, a dedicated workforce of federal employees and active duty military personnel provide uninterrupted fuel management and support to the Warfighter at more than 400 Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine and Coast Guard installations.

DLA Energy Americas West (AMW)

Operating out of Naval Weapons Station Seal Beach, California, AMW provides command and control of 40 assigned personnel in Mission Support, Supplier Operations, Customer Operations and Quality Operations Divisions conducting admin, budget, planning/operations to perform exercise and real world contingency support, energy logistics & quality functions for the delivery and further distribution of 1.6 billion gallons of bulk fuel and customer-direct energy products supporting 126 bases within 11 states in the western region of the United States.

DLA Energy Americas East (AME)

Operating out of Houston, Texas, AME enables the receipt, quality testing, delivery and further distribution of 1.1 billion gallons bulk fuel and customer-direct energy products supporting 295 bases within 37 states in the Continental United States, all of Central and South America, and islands in the Caribbean. AME provides command and control of 93 personnel in Mission Support, Quality Operations /Assurance, Supplier Operations, and Customer Operations to support Department of Defense and inter-agency end-users.

DLA Energy Americas North (AMN)

Operating out of Anchorage, Alaska, AMN provides command and control of assigned personnel conducting administration, budget, planning/operations, energy logistics and quality functions. Provides 390,000 tons of coal for power and heating plants at Eielson Air Force Base and Fort Wainwright. Customer Operations supports 83 Federal sites and five DoD main operating bases. Maintains and operates a Level “A” Fuels Lab complex in support of DoD and whole of government customers within the Alaska region.

DLA Energy improves Coast Guard fuel support

The Coast Guard saw firsthand how DLA Energy has improved customer support and fuel accounting during a maritime training exercise called Poseidon’s Domain in Puerto Rico in April.
