Army Col. Robert Rochon assumed his current position as the chief of staff of Defense Logistics Agency Energy, a major subordinate command of DLA at Fort Belvoir, Virginia, and is responsible for enabling mission readiness by providing globally resilient energy solutions to the Warfighter and Whole of Government.

Rochon joined the military in 1986 as a medic and was honorably discharged as an NCO in 1990. A Distinguished Military Graduate and Distinguished Military Student of the Army ROTC program at Eastern Washington University and a recipient of the General George C. Marshall Leadership Award, he was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the Infantry.

His assignments include Platoon Leader and Company Executive Officer, Bravo 1-9 IN, CP Hovey, Korea; Battalion S1 and S3, 53rd MCB, Fort McPherson, Georgia; Battalion S4 and Battalion Maintenance Officer, 180th Transportation Battalion, Company Commander, 96th HET, Fort Hood, Texas, and Iraq; Operations Officer, Joint Staff J4, Logistics Initiatives Group, HQDA G4, Pentagon; Sustainment Brigade Support Operations Officer, 593rd Sustainment Brigade, Battalion Executive Officer with the 593rd SB Special Troops Battalion, SPO, 13th CSSB, JBLM, Washington; CGSC Assistant Professor, Department of Logistics and Resource Operations, Fort Leavenworth, Kansas; Battalion Commander, 64th Brigade Support Battalion, Kuwait, Eastern Europe, and Fort Carson, Colorado; the Joint Staff J4, Strategy and Readiness Division and Readiness Branch Chief, Pentagon; and most recently the Army War College at Carlisle Barracks, Pennsylvania.      

Rochon’s four combat deployments include OPERATION IRAQI FREEDOM and OPERATION NEW DAWN. He deployed twice as a Battalion Commander, once to Kuwait in support of Operation Spartan Shield and to Eastern Europe in support of Operation Atlantic Resolve.

He is a graduate of numerous Army schools including the Infantry Officer Basic Course, the Bradley Leader’s Course, Combined Logistics Officer Advanced Course, Combined Arms and Services Staff School, Command and General Staff College, and the Army War College. His education includes a Bachelors Degree in History from Eastern Washington University, a Masters Degree in Policy Management from Georgetown University, and a Masters Degree in Strategic Studies from the Army War College. 

His awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal with (Oak Leaf Cluster), the Defense Meritorious Service Medal (Oak Leaf Cluster), the Meritorious Service Medal (with five Oak Leaf Clusters), the Joint Service Commendation Medal, the Army Commendation Medal (with three Oak Leaf Clusters), the Army Achievement Medal (with Oak Leaf Cluster), the Joint Chiefs of Staff Identification Badge and the Army Staff Badge.
